So, you're o.k. with the high gas prices, higher prices on utilities, groceries, and everything else gas prices have an effect on?

Keithsan, you're so smart, why do you think the gas prices are so high? And don't say supply and demand. That's always the same excuse.

I'm being attacked for not blaming everything on one person....hmm...

k. why did D carter have high prices...

why does R bush have high prices....

well, now, as compared to 70's, china and india have increased demand. India and china have increased demand on manythings. Now as the world has globalized and they can see what they are missing on their computer, these people can change it. and in china and India they have, check out an encyclopedia description of India 20 years ago....Now we outsource not only sneakermaking but our most needed scientific work.

ohhhh, but we cant talk about demand. ok gas would be much cheaper if the state taxes would be removed (taxcut) and even more so if the feds cut that tax also.
Now you have cheaper gas.

Prices hit all times high 2/3 days ago, will they hit alltime highs in 5 or 6 more, i doubt it but it could happen....

I am not SMART, but I am not STUPID enough to think its the pres of the U.S's fault.

Wonder if we can get Jacques Chirac to leave France and become the USA president? I would imagine gas is over $5 (USD) a gallon in France.

Bush haters should move to France, whose economy has slowed greatly relative to the the USA.

Better trophy wives than those buck toothed, orca fat Canuck women. Let them ride bicycles... they need the exercise. Then let the bicycle wipe out and have them fall on their faces - might be an improvement.

So how come the per capita gross domestic product in the USA is nearly 25 percent more than in Canada?

Ahh, of course the US has a stronger per capita GDP. But that strength has been eroding over the last decade, that gap is closing because our economy is GROWING faster than yours.

wow...

nobody even mentioned the real reason that gas prices are higher and it was headline news early this week...

Chevron Texaco to buy Unocal for $16.4 billion
ANDREW ROSS SORKIN & CHRISTINE HAUSER
Tuesday, April 05, 2005 at 0031 hours IST

Chevron Texaco will acquire Unocal, one of the largest independent oil companies, in a stock and cash transaction valued at approximately $18 billion, including net debt, the two companies said on Monday. A takeover of Unocal, which is based in El Segundo, California, represents the biggest acquisition in the industry since the consolidation wave of the late 1990s, when Exxon bought Mobil for $80 billion and BP acquired Amoco for $48 billion.

Bush is too busy praying to fix anything....

Gee!! Now just why would Chevron Texaco want Jacques Chirac to leave France and become the USA President?
Their tax breaks that Bush gives to the corporates, and the gouging prices that is allowed by our Administration is just padding their bank accounts more than anyone even knows. Look at all the big oil companies profits made just since that Moral President has held office.

Love the cheap gas.

Gas in the USA has alwys been much, much less than in Europe.

USA oil companies deserve what they make.

Economy of France and Germany has decreased 23 percent relative to the USA since 1990. Maybe they should do as we do with their oil companies.

First new refinery in 29 years to be built in the USA - lack of refinery capacity is part of the reason for high gas prices but environmentalists have sucessfullly fought a new one being built until now.

Next thing you know we will get oil from Anwr in Alaska.

Will wonders never cease!
