Example, pumpers ,bashers, lawyers, politician's students, children, police, stock brokers even some clergy, parent's etc. The consequence of this continual lying [[ moral decay ]]is evident in most things we see today.... Yes glassman, I will agree with parts of what you say, the truth is so far away. As far as the President goes, I just will keep backing him. I just got a feeling this man knows what he is doing...And that ain't SPIN.

glassman..Just a little something on spin. Facts A fact in our lives is valuable not so far as it is true, but as it is significant Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
Maybe Saddum H. should of grasped the following before he thru away the lives of so many, including his own.
Unblemished let me live, or die unknown; O grant an honest fame, or grant me none!

glassman and Keithsan ...I missed the political season around here, but I bet the heat off the threads probably added to global warming...Glassman Sounds like you supported Kerry..Don't take it to bad if you did, because you always have Hillary..[ouch] My hero is a old fisherman, known only by a few. But a true hero to all of us that know him. He is still alive and hopefully will stay that way for a long time.

You have to understand the personality processes at play in forming an idea, opinion, judgment, etc.
Our opinions are need based.
The need to accurately mirror existence as it really is (the need for validity), is often over-ruled by other needs, the need to love others for instance.
Those who have a strong need to unconditionally love mankind are taking a need that appropriately applies to taking care of babies, and inappropriately generalizing the need to everyone - the Christ and craddle-to-grave welfare morality. This inappropriate generalization is an example of mild thought disorder, akin to thinking all men are evil because one man raped you once, which is also an overgeneralization. It is inappropriate to love everyone, such as the rapist trying to attack you or the killer trying to kill you.
Those with the universal love mentality will be against capital punishment, against letting Terri Schiavo die, against abortion under any circumstance, and against defending their country when attacked. For them these positions are truth. They will interpret factual events in the light of their needs - the US was wrong to invade Afghanistan and Iraq - the terroists are winning, etc.
Those with a need balance that mirrors reality, and can base their ideas on valid perceptions, realize the wisdom of Bush's military policy, see the decline in US troops being killed in Iraq, see Iraqis and other Arabs joining in the fight against terrorism, realize the spread of democracy in the mideast has started and will bring peace while counteracting terrorism, and give Bush the due credit for winning the war on terrorism. As the good news in the mideast increases, they will have a harder time denying reality.
-------------------- The light of truth is blinding to most.
More comforting to look only at the shadows of falseness.

Art,the country no, the cities yes. Do you consider my statement spin? I think it will qualify...Simply because you left yourself open just a bit, I could drive a spin truck right thru.
The one's who continually give no quarter, even on the slightest oversight, well,,,thats one of the reasons I started this thread.
