For those of you that haven't heard of it, Firefox is a web browser alternative to Internet Explorer.
1) The first reason I decided to switch is that I heard it is more secure then IE. It doesn't use ActiveX(?) Which is suppose to be what MANY of the malware creators use to get into your PC. By not using this, it make FireFox immune to many pieces of ad/spyware right form the start. And being that maybe 2% of all people use FireFox for web browsing, malware writers just simply focus of the 98% of people still using IE.
2) Firefox also utilizes "tabbed browsing". You know when you have 10 different sites up, your task bar fills up with these tiny IE windows that you can't even read? And what if you have another program or two open? Their squished in there too. Can't even tell which is which. Well FireFox just has a single window in the task bar that just says FireFox and when you maximize it, it show your all you webpages on different tabs at the top. Just like what Windows uses! VERY convenient!
3) The google search bar is built right in. Not like the tool bar you get with IE, but it's just a small unintrusive box in the toolbar. Just a small google "G" and a place to type. Outstanding.
4) But the biggest thing is that Firefox is the most customizable browser on the planet. When you first download it, it's just a basic stripped down version. But then you get to download extensions free of charge. They have an extension for everything! My first order of business was to get a spell checker. An easy to use one. One that doesn't open a new window or anything. Bam! Spellbound extension. I now have a button on my toolbar I can click. Or I can right click and select spell check. It checks anything. All e-mails or bulletin boards...anything. Ever close a window and then realize NO! I didn't want to close that one! Well, they have undoclosetab extension. Press SHIFT+ALT+F7 and it reopens the last window closed. Whew! Sounds like alot of button pressing huh? Next extension. Keyconfig. It allows you to change any command into any button press. Now I have F1 to open a new tab. F2 to undo a closed tab. Very quick and easy. I'm looking for am extension that will open a new tab to whatever site I want automatically. So I press F6 and BAM I'm at Yahoo financial. F7 BAM! I'm at hotmail. F8 BAM! I'm at allstocks.com Very handy. Any little thing that you might want changed, chances are there is an extension to meet your needs. If there truly isn't, you can even write your own!
Anyway. I strongly suggest everyone at least check it out. Even if you don't want it. Been using it a little while now, an I'm pissed I even wasted my time with IE. Hope this helps someone!

Also, I went ahead and used that link in my second post. Now I just press F6 which takes me to the address bar, then I can press "H" and hit enter. BAM! Hotmail.com "E" enter takes me to ebay's advanced search page. "Y" takes me to Yahoo financial "A" to allstocks BB and "S" for scottrade's login screen. If I don't want any of those pages to take over the tab I have, just press F1 instead of F6.....It really couldn't be much better.

Cool. I thought it was mearly ok, until I actually started digging through the extensions. So far I'm running, Spellbound Tabbrower preferences tabX undoclosetab MiniT Duplicate Tab and best of all... Keyconfig!
Keyconfig lets me make any action into a one button press!! I love this thing!

Opera is better. You get 'mouse gestures' where you can go back on a page by holding down the right mouse button and clicking the left. Great for lazy people that dont even want to move the cursor.
