Being 5 and 6 hours behind the east coast. [Mad] Having to wake up even earlier then usual so I can check where I stand....only to find out I've already missed a couple of great buys. [Frown]

Gee, I think the benefits would be much better, than being behind four hours! [Smile] We are sitting in four or five inches of snow today! Yuck! [Smile]

I lived in Florida for about 17 years. Palm Bay, FL. I really liked it there and am planning to move back in about a year. Yes. Yes. Hawaii is cool to visit. But I've lived here for over 4 years now. Traffic is a b!tch, parking is a b!tch, rent is a B!TCH and it's ALWAYS crowded. So those crisp white sand beaches you all see in your heads.... COVERED by people. Inch to inch. Some of the things that make Hawaii beautiful are being destroyed by the shear mass of humans trying to live on this one little island we call Oahu. Yes, the other islands are better about this......for now. But they're still a little under developed for me. No Best Buy, Olive Garden or Wal Mart. Good to live by those places, but vacation in places without em'. That's why I liked Palm Bay. We have everything I've ever needed, but it's not all crowded together.....and the parking spaces are about twice as wide.lol

i like mules more than your average howly o'kola...

Kahoolawe was even more primitive...got to do a bit of spear-fishing over there....did the Navy ever give it back?...we were over there cleaning it up... now that was FUN!!!!

we were "planting trees" in solid rock... using see4 and rocket motors..

I moved to CA in '89 from Hawaii. I don't miss the crowds and traffic, I do miss the aloha spirit, the food and my family. All in all, after having been all over the US, about the only downside about Hawaii is the 3AM wake up to make the opening of trading daily!

hahaha spudnutz. Trading time burns me up! That's exactly why I started this thread. [Big Grin] I'm gonna have to start getting up at about 4:30am. I can't do any earlier then that. And the aloha spirit is diminishing very slowly day by day. It's going away right along with the tropical get-a-way feeling. Know what I mean? It's becoming way too built up. Hanauma Bay is getting destroyed by 1,000 of tourists a day. They've never snorkeled before so they stand on, touch and scrape the coral with their fins. I can't swim anywhere in Waikiki Beach without running into at least two pieces of trash every time. That's just sad. People are destroying this place. And despite what everyone pictures, there are no secluded beaches that you and your wife and sit alone together... not on Oahu at least. Hawaii has much more to offer then Palm Bay I guess. But it's just over run by a mob of people.

And yes glassman, that was the Navy's target practice island correct? Last I knew they are still finding unexploded ordinance everywhere.

yes i expect the EOD teams will stil be "playing" there when i am long gone....
we had two "real" men (locals) swim from Maui across the straight while was there, and apparently even more did it during "exersizes"

i forget how far it was, but it took quite awhile by chopper....
