Same. I was just trying to lighten up the thread with some humor. I'm certainly not intending to put dirt farmers down.

if you don't know why i said "dirt farmers!" you haven't read this thread carefully. but it's ok, you're pretty upset. you know what, don't worry about it.

suggestion: be grateful you actually had the 80,000. not that you don't have a valid gripe wtih the system, you may have one. but the anger & hatred will make you sick inside. & the victim mentality will crush your spirit. life's not about what hand you are dealt so much as it is about how you play those cards. and life's short, remember. don't let bitterness win! there're other ways to go.

i think glassman's best point was the very one you called stupid. we're no better off than our worst off. this is the type of thinking that's getting old and grey waiting right around the corner for the rest of us to show up.
*us against them* -type thinking

ok, i got to get into this thing, I will just be bold, Bottom Line, we love them, We care for them and our hearts go out to them. And I suspect
that it came as quite a surprise when the US military began to explain this to the world
september 12, 2001. There are vast number of non breathing that no longer question our resolve.

yesterday i got a photo of a burning humvee
with 5 dead american soldiers lieing around it.
I started to post it here but i don't want to
shock any of you. I will endeaver to speak for
them. Not one of them harbored a thought like you
opened this Post with. In fact rather than complain that someone got medical care these guys would have donated blood. And if you ask these young men about social security they would say they don't exspect to get it. And if you ask them about your son getting it they would not say a word. All 5 of them would say they disagree with you but they would defend your right to say it....there is a reason that we are the best in the world.

gmh37,

I do hope you are just having a bad day and will think better of your comments at another time. Consider yourself lucky that this thread was not just moved but that it was not entirely deleted by Allstocks. What you said was a good way to get banned from Allstocks.

you said that we can't talk about the jews here in america.
but we value freedom of speech... the reason
you can walk around the streets and malls and not
here anyone say any thing bad about the jews is
because its just not in there hearts.

i'm sorry - this does not belong here. this is a stock board. what's that phrase "Do unto your neighbor as you would do unto yourself." This is America - the land of the free. I do agree - 90% (110%) of the work in this country is done by 10% of the people.

Funny you should say that here on a stock board...where all we do is find someone else to do the work and we just buy and sell. [Big Grin]

You really think DD is all that much work compared to what the company has to do to? [Razz] Making money on stocks is a whole lot easier than making a profitable business.

Im going to throw my 2 cents in here real quick.

History lesson #1

You know who funded the Revolutionary War for G Washington and the Continental Congress?

In the area of finance the young American government might have foundered too except for the financial genius and personal financial risk and support taken on by Hayim Solomon. Solomon was to die bankrupted by his total support of the American cause. Though small in number the Jews chose to caste their fate with America.

http://www.jewishmag.com/80mag/usa3/usa3.htm

Because of the financial support of Hayim and other Jews, the first Continental Congress bank notes contained the Star of David on the back of them in honor of this support.

Lesson #2

During the American Civil War when England and France were looking to invade us on the side of the South, one European country stood up and helped the union. That country was Russia.

All of a sudden, when events seemed to be at their worst for the North, a ray of sunshine came over the horizon. The Russian fleet had arrived in New York and San Francisco harbors. It was the saving grace the Union needed. Oliver Wendell Holmes, referring to Alexander sending the Russian fleet to America, said he was "our friend when the world was our foe." <28> In Europe and the American Civil War, Donaldson Jordan and Edwin Pratt claim that "Europe and the North saw this visit of the Russian fleet as a significant demonstration of Russian friendship for the Union in its hour of need." <29> The incident had a lasting impact on Russian-American relations.

The arrival of the fleet delighted the Lincoln administration. Thomas Bailey claims that "the morale of the United States received a definite boost at a time when it needed stimulants . . . . " <30> An excerpt from the diary of Secretary of the Navy Gideon Welles is an example of the jubilation felt by many Americans. He writes that:

In sending them [the fleet] to this country there is something significant. What will be its effect on France and the French policy we shall learn in due time. It may be moderate; it may exasperate. God bless the Russians. <31>

The president sent Mrs. Lincoln with other dignitaries to New York to greet the Russians. The president's wife drank a toast to the czar. The New York Sun wrote that Mrs. Lincoln's visit with the Russians was important because Russia was "the only European power that has maintained a hearty sympathy with the United States during our present troubles." <32> The New York Herald commented that "Mrs. Lincoln knew what she was doing" because she knew it would create "a hearty response throughout the country." <33> Mrs. Lincoln's toast was symbolic of the new hope felt by the Union with the arrival of the Russian fleet.

History has a way of changing allegiances over time... we did not have good relations with Britain until we saved them during and after WWI.

Sorry we offended your sensibilites. Got any arguments instead of just demeanizing the source? That's the way liberals argue - attack the speaker instead of showing how the speaker's thoughts are invalid.

I certainly didnt write this to criticise anyone, just to note that there is alot of history by ALL cultures in the founding of our great nation.

And to be honest, the Constitution protects speech and opinion, no matter what it is. I like to argue with people who think the media is one sided and SHOULD be fair and balanced.

My opinion is that it is one-sided, BUT the Constitution again does not say that you have to print towards one side or another... most of the Federalist Papers were one-sided at the beginning of our nation, and most of the patriot printers had one-sided views too.

The key is to not worry about what someone's bias's are, but to garner the truth... and make up your own mind. : )

LOL. Ya, I've NEVER seen a conservative reduced to, say, defamation and innuendo. Nice try Art.

And no, I don't have any argument to counter a premise that Russians and Jews are to blame for sick children and the social security 'issue'.

Social Security =

Ponzi Scheme

Sorry, but each of us if responsible for out own existance, and own retirement. Soc Sec may have been needed at the time of the Great Depression as an 'aide' to help the elderly, but today it is a crutch to those who, like the grasshopper and the ant, want to live for today, and think someone else will care for them tomorrow.
