Excerpted from The Scotsman, Jan. 27, 2005, by Alan Hall in Berlin.

Psychics led police to schoolgirl's killer

Police had run out of leads in the hunt for the killer of Susanne Erbe, 16, but the killer was tracked down after the victim's mother, Sigrid, got in touch with mediums who allegedly made contact with the spirit of the dead girl.

Ms Erbe, 45, told a court in Mannheim, Germany, she had been sceptical about the psychics’ planned seance. But she went on: "Susanne told me her killer was a Croatian man in his mid-20s. They were even able to work out where to look for him. They said he could be found at a garage in Mannheim."

Ms Erbe said she demanded that police follow up the lead, and detectives were amazed when they confronted Mario Glavic, 24, a Croat who worked as a panel-beater and painter at a Mannheim garage, and he broke down and confessed to the crime.

Glavic attacked the teenager as she was walking home late at night on 19 June, 2003.

Rolf Konrad, prosecuting, said: "Susanne was chosen simply because she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"She was walking back to her home at Neuhermsheim in Mannheim and had the bad luck to walk past her eventual killer. He threatened her with a starter pistol and forced her into the bushes where he raped her.

"When she started to scream, he grabbed a rock and hit her on the head and left her there to die. Her half-dressed body was found the next day by a lorry driver. Emergency services were only able to confirm the teenager’s death as a result of head injuries."

Until Glavic’s arrest last June, 12 months after the killing, police said they had no leads, despite questioning 6,500 men and taking 4,300 saliva probes for DNA testing without coming up with a firm suspect.

That was when Ms Erbe decided to try a more unconventional approach, and called in the psychic detectives.

As he sat in the dock yesterday, Glavic covered his face with his hands and admitted raping and killing the teenager.

The judge found him guilty on charges of murder as well as rape with fatal consequences and sentenced him to life imprisonment.

Hmmmmm! Wonder where she got the gift to tell them what they wanted to know???

I had a Christian man, visit my home, when my son was small; he was a friend of my Uncles, and he had this gift. He told me where a stream runs under our house, he drew us a map, where metal things were sitting in my home; I had lost a birthstone ring, and asked him if he could find it.That particular one wasn't here, but he found the other ones,(he was only in the kitchen the entire visit) and he told me that there was someone protecting me, in the corner of my living room. The Harrisburg police used him to find murdered or kidnapped victims! He was apparently very effective! He also told my Uncle, he really really liked me, because of my aura! Don't know what color, so don't ask! [Smile] He was a really nice man! Didn't use his gift for profit, and gave God the credit! Oh, and he could find water for people to drill their wells!

maybe God gave him the gift, but, the same "gift" was also given to birds...even some single celled organisms...

sensitivity to magnetic fields is common in nature...

Glassman, did you know that bacteria can communicate from room to room in a hospital, when someone is being treated to kill the bacteria, resulting in more resistant bacteria not being yet treated?

No one knows how they do it - a God given gift to help bacteria better kill people I suppose.

come on Art....

i know a little something about resisance genetics, and while we have identified transposable elements which allow bacteria to mutate on demand, or evolve in a parallel( as opposed to linear) fashion, i haven't yet seen data that shows that they can communicate thru air/walls/petrie dishes...most likely it's just bad hygenics from the phlebotomists...LOL

is it a peer reviewed article? [Big Grin]

Yes, the birds have "instinct". God gave it to them! He also made the bacteria the way it is, but satan uses it to do the killing! Man has free will, to choose to mutate and spread them around! It's called germ or biological warfare! There are unseen principalities that can help or hurt us. It depends on what you want to believe!

Couldn't find the article describing bacterial communications between hospital rooms to increase rsistance of untreated bacteria. Did find this related stuff on New Scientist:

13 April 2002

Andy Coghlan

Magazine issue 2338

Bacteria have learned how to transmit information over the airwaves

ANTIBIOTIC-RESISTANT superbugs are becoming a massive problem in hospitals worldwide. And if researchers in Britain are right, one reason is that the little devils can send signals through the air, telling other bacteria to turn on their resistance genes.

It's known that bacteria exchange messages by releasing substances into the fluid in which they're growing. These substances send a "wake-up" signal to neighbours or attract roaming bacteria towards the bacterial colonies called biofilms.

But Richard Heal and Alan Parsons of QinetiQ, formerly part of the British government's Defence Evaluation and Research Agency, think that bugs can exchange signals through the air as well. "It's the first report of airborne communication, as far as we know," says Heal, who presented the team's findings at the Warwick meeting.

who created those mosquitoes Kate? do you realise that mosquitoes transmit FATAL diseases to roughly 3 million people per year worldwide, and about 2 million are children...makes a tsunami seem kinda minor don't it?

God and the devil are partners as one - part of the same process of universal unfolding.

Attempts to say all bad things are from Satan and all good things from God just doesn't work - you have two postulate two simultaneous universes running equally and simultaneously - one being bad and one being good.

Then you have to explain how a single event is good for some and bad for others - did God or the Devil create this event, and if so why did God or the Devil punish some and reward others?

Makes no sense to say two sources of governing the universe are simultaneously at play, except in asserting bimodal forces of a single universal process - positive and negative, love and hate, good and evil, gravity and anti-gravity, etc. Then you are back to realizing that God and the Devil are partners and the same.

It's not hard to understand, Art! God is good, satan is bad! Man has free will, to choose one over the other! You can't blame God, when something bad happens to you, when you live the consequences of your actions, or the actions of others! People get cancer, because there is something in the environment, that our bodies don't accept as right! Who polluted the environment? Not God! People did! If you die of liver disease from drinking alcohol, it was your choice to drink, not God's. If you die of lung cancer, from smoking, you can't blame God, because you smoked! Someone innocent gets killed by a drunk driver! Why? The drunk driver decided to drink, and as a consequence of his free will, the other person died! Not because of God! God gives us choices! We either accept Him, or we don't, and if we don't, we are accepting satan! It's as simple as that! satan wants nothing more, than to fill your head with lies, to keep you from believing in the ONE TRUE GOD! I care enough about you, to tell you! That is me, using my free will! [Smile] God never promises us a life without suffering, HE just promises us that He will be there to see us through it, if we depend on HIM!

What you are saying Kate is that God is one part of the material and non-material universe while Satan is another part.

However, good and evil are in parity - balanced around a mean over time. There are times when good is more than evil and times when evil predominates over good, but overall they remain in parity over time. We will never eliminate evil, and this is good. We will never eliminate good, and this is evil. Both are just as important in the big picture over time - both are necessary.

The universe consists of bi-polar dimensions as forces of nature - positive/negative, good/evil, construction/destruction, happiness/sadness, love/hate, warm/cool, etc. A world without either in a pair is hell. It is would take a book to show how this is true. You can separate God and Satan as a bipolar dimension but then you must realize that both God and Satan created the universe together and both are partners working together.

For every bad act to some, good results to others. Since Satan creates the bad act then Satan simultaneously does the good act - Satan is good as well as bad. For every good act to some, some bad results to others. Since God creates the good act then God simultaneously does the bad act - God is bad as well as good.

You are forced, on a rational basis, to say God and Satan are co-creators and partners working together or that God is the source of both good and evil but God as a universal process is amoral (not immoral though) and only humans think in terms of good and evil because of their material experience (where such thought is irrelevant in the non-material realm).

If you refuse to accept either of these alternatives you are believing in a fantasy because this is what you need to believe even though it is not true.

No Art, I don't believe that! God is the creator, and He also created satan! Once again, since God gave us free will, we can be influenced by either God, or satan! satan chose to sin, therefore, he got thrown out of heaven! Some parts of what you say, are the truth, like satan doing both good and bad; yes, he does, to make people believe that they don't need God, and he is also very beautiful, not like the ugly ogre he is portrayed as! His angels are called, angels of light! They deceive people, into thinking they don't need God!
God is only good! He cannot look upon sin, that is why he destroyed evil, up until Christ came, and died to take away the sins of the world. He also punishes his children, when they don't listen to Him, just as we punish our own children! That isn't evil, it is guidance, with love! It is to keep us from getting into a worse mess, than we were before! When Jesus died, he ascended into hell, and those who were there, from before, in pergatory,(Old Testament) were given free will to accept or reject Him. Those who did, went to heaven. The rest went to hell! Their choice. Pergatory no longer exists. When we die, we go to either heaven, or hell. We have a choice to make, between God, and satan. It is up to us! You can be as scientific as you like, but it is very simple to understand! Jesus loves you! He wants to be your best friend! (Yes, He is my best friend, Glass) [Smile] You spend so much time, explaining all of this knowledge, that God gave you, only you aren't getting it right, because you refuse to believe! I hope that someday you will see that! [Smile]

How could church leaders keep people under their control if not for fear of eternal suffering?

I don't have to worry about eternal suffering! [Smile] No church leader has control over me; I chose my own destiny! I am in control of my own life, with God as my leader! I have free will, to choose what I want to do, and what I don't want to do! What you guys don't want to do, is to choose to allow God to have the front seat on the bicycle built for two, and that is where I choose to put Him! He surely knows a lot more than I do, what is down the road, so who better to drive? [Smile]

If you accept the idea that some underlying process regulates the universe, even the process of causality, then this process can be defined as God, and the question becomes what is the nature of this God process (causality, information processing that regulates energy and matter, etc.), rather than does God exist.

Yeah, thats true, but the nature of God has already been defined by a lot of people who would rather listen to what elites would have us think of the actions of sheppard that lived 2000 years ago. And what the elites would have us think is often what is in their best interest.

True.

The God of religion is promoted by religious leader for money and power (look at the wealth, power and prestige of the Vatican) and by governments to help control the masses.

Constantin in about the 3rd century A.D. adopted Christianity and rewrote the bible (throwing out passages advocating reincarnation for instance) so as to be able to have a well behaved citizenry in the Roman empire. The founding fathers of the U.S.A., like Jefferson and Madison, recognized the value of religion in controlling citizens, and wanted to encourage religion while separating it from government to allow different religions.

T.V. evangelists like Jim and Faye Baker use religion for money. I wanted to do this but was not criminal enough to pull it off - would take someone like Bill Clinton to do it right (he did the same thing in politics).

A nonreligious definition of God eliminates morality-as-ontologically-inherent in the material universe (God is amoral) and looks at God as the basis of the universe, whether this is simply causality, or some even more basic process that underlies causality.

You aren't naming any good examples of Christian leadership! Try digging into Billy Grahams ministry! He is a sincere Christian, and puts others before himself! When my mother was dying, she wrote him a letter, and he took the time to personally write her back to comfort her! This is how God shows himself through people! If we all listened to what God is saying in His Word, we would have no problems at all! It would be paradise! [Smile] As far as the Roman Catholic church, it has its good Christian people, but it also is a lot of humans, that can make mistakes like anyone else! I believe we ALL spend more money on ourselves than we need to, to either impress others, or to feel like we are worth something! What you have to try to do, is count the blessings that God gives you each day, and stop looking to the future! God promises in his Word, to provide for our needs, if we are faithful! That is what I believe! He has blessed me, with family and friends who love me, a home to live in, clothes to wear, food to eat, a country that I can have freedom of religion, and I feel very blessed! Each day is a blessing, and I try to do what I believe God would want me to do, each day! It isn't always easy! It is all in how you look at it, and what you feel your self worth is! Your self worth, isn't measured by what you have in this life, but by what you give to others! We store up treasures in heaven! Those are the ones that count! If people could just understand this, they would be a lot happier!

Yes, religion can be a source of stength and guidance.

We all need a moral compass in ordering our life's activities and quitting or avoiding bad habits. Religion can provide that and be very valuable to the faithful.
