A Mexican government official has threatened to use international courts to block an Arizona law meant to prohibit illegal aliens from receiving public benefits and voting rights.
Foreign Secretary Luis Ernesto Derbez said in a radio interview Wednesday that an international strategy would be used if other attempts to reverse Proposition 200 fail, the Associated Press reported.
"We are seeking all the legal opportunities that exist, first using the legal capacities of the United States itself and ... if that does not work, bringing it to international tribunals," AP quotes Derbez as saying.
Mexican officials have repeatedly complained about Proposition 200, which went into effect Tuesday. The statewide measure denies most taxpayer benefits to illegal aliens and requires state workers to report applicants for such benefits who may not be eligible. It also requires anyone registering to vote in the state to show proof of citizenship and bring a government-issued ID to the polling place.
AP reported Derbez expressed regret that, according to polls, about 40 percent of Mexican-Americans in Arizona supported Prop. 200. The measure passed with 60 percent of the vote.
"It's sad, and it gives an idea of how we have to work to educate even our own Mexican-Americans about why it is important that these proposals are not accepted," Derbez said.
The Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund has challenged Prop. 200, saying it is "an illegal, impermissible, unconstitutional state attempt to regulate immigration policy, which is a fundamental function and responsibility of our federal government. Proposition 200 is mean-spirited and un-American."

It's all about social security running out. Plain and simple whites do not have more than 2 children on average, blacks have multiple children yet sadly a great number end up on welfare or in prison. Mexicans and arabs are notorious for having large families and will work for low wages. This is why so many illeagals are being ignored the idea is to get as many in as possible before the public outcry becomes unbearable for the president. Now they say there is so many here we can't send them home. The so called solution is to give them guest worker cards which will in turn make them pay social security. All guest workers will be made citizens eventually its all part of the master plan. The problem is this is starting to backfire alot of these people are coming over to take advantage of tax payer funded health care which is bankrupting states like CA,AZ,NM,AK the list goes on and on. Bush knows he will have to seal the border soon and once they get the magic number of mexicans in that will be the end of it.

OK so how do we get this type of initiative to be a NATIONAL campaign issue....and get the votes counted?
i say that the best fix is to make it a serious crime to hire an illegal.... nanny, maid, driver, carpenter, programmer i don't care, mandatory jail time... then we won't have illegals coming to begin with....

Fine, but can we exclude prostitutes from the not hire list?

Yes, you are right Art, that IS what Christ would want! He is no respector of persons! So sorry you know that, but make it a jest! I AM going to heaven, where are you going?

You go from whence you came, which is where you are, and always have been. Once you figure this out you will have understood the mystery of the universe.
