Pictures of North Korean ruler Kim Jong Il are being removed from public places in Pyongyang and other parts of country. No word so far on who gave the order or its meaning.

well, without anything else to go on, best guess from me would be that he has had a serious mental break.....
either a stroke, or some sort of emotional breakdown...
a stroke could make him look differently and the pictures would remind HIM of that.....

or an emotional breakdown that no-one wants to speak of....isn't his son expected to follow him?????

Kim has poked fun at the cult of personality pervasive in North Korea, and analysts said the removal of some portraits could be an indication he wanted to tone it down in line with incremental economic reforms.
