There is a TV show, that will air tonight, on PBS, called Afghanistan Unveiled! It is the women of Afghanistan, talking about what the Taliban did to them, and their families! I saw a short clip, and it was horrifying! This is one reason, I'm very glad we are fighting the terrorists!

Kate, while we are working to free them, the same "good guys" are working to restrict women's reproductive freedom here.... and i'm not talking about abortion, i'm talking about contraception...

How are they prohibiting contraception?
I am all for killing any unborn fetus (or any other life forms) when it serves our nation's interest (getting rid of babies who will be criminals or dependent on society, etc.) so as to promote a greater good than the harm to the killed fetus or other life form. The Republicans are giving in to the religious nuts on this one.

i recently had a conversation with a guy that was a cheapo hotel manager in Georgia.... he was justifying hiring illegals cuz (he said) there aren't enough workers anymore..because of birth control and abortion.... it wasn't funny... when i pointed out to him that crime rates have fallen significantly as a result of fewer unwanted pregnancies, i was struck by the IRONY that the crime statistics probably didn't include the illegal aliens and the people hiring them...

what makes you think that i think that you are a bigot Kate....you are being a little over-defensive here... i doubt that any of the bigots voted for Kerry...LOL so they must have ALL voted for Bush..... that's NOT the same as "if you vote for Bush you are a bigot"....different sub-set...

Kate, you have mistaken me for a liberal...
i have a graet deal of respect for DR Rice... just because i didn't want Bush re-elected doesn't mean i am anything like what you think i am...
i am in fact a FISCAL conservative and a social moderate....
if you try to deny that there aren't alot of Bush supporters that are freaking about a black woman getting the Sec. of State seat, then you are just not realistic..
i don't know why you would thnk i am being accusatory of you....
