Now glass...You know he didn't say that. I think what he was saying was that it would be in everyone's best interest to start with the basic problem which is lack of education...lack of skills.
As a healthcare worker, I see it everyday, people on the "draw" who have no legitimate reason to be. But that's what they have been taught and that's all that they know.

that doesn't feed the bulldog.....
school is good, but people don't lose their jobs in this economy cuz they are uneducated....
i hope the president gets some more education real soon......
BUT... the qustion was---what do you tell a person who's just lost their job... Bush did answer that with go back to school...and we have been.....alot....schools are making a lot of money these days...
The problem is that the government doesn't try to help those who try to help themselves by getting a job...benefits are taken away from them or reduced. Instead they give aid to those who do nothing.
If someone is truly disabled, I have no problem with that person receiving benefits. It's those people who have never held a job in their lives, have a new vehicle every year, and are as able bodied as me to go to work, but they don't.

I agree. For example, I am an endoscopy nurse, or better explained as what happens to you if you go to a surgeon complaining of belly pain and they can find nothing else wrong with you....bottom end and top end.
They have developed a little capsule now , that contains a micro camera...you can see as much of the digestive, and excretory system as you ever did before. They just haven't perfected the program . If and when they do, my current departmental job will be obsolete.

Even doctors are going to need to do more than just tell you via your symptoms what your problem is. There is software for that.
CSPAN had a broadcast last night from a jobs conference very interesting future we are going to have.

Perhaps you could educate both the President and I as to where in the constitution there is any reference to the federal government being responsable for losing or creating jobs. Perhaps you could also explain to me why you immeadiately blame the President for any lost job in the last four years. The overwhelming majority of lost jobs were lost in the months after 9/11. Yet this fact escapes you agenda driven blatherings. Please do find it in your heart to be honest, Glass, as we both KNOW you have not been.
