On November 26, 2004 the day after Thanksgiving (one of the biggest shopping days of the year), a massive group of shoppers will protest Walmart Stores across America to support all women employees of the company. This action will show Wal-Mart , one of the biggest retailers of our country that gender discrimination is unacceptable.

Walmart will make it very difficult for shoppers to stay away that day, but be strong and support the working women across America. Shop other retailers who need our support and who also do not discriminate based on gender.

If you will join us in this protest please forward this email on to your friends and family.

Sam Walton built Walmart on 3 Basic Beliefs:

1. Respect for the individual
2. Service to our Customers
3. Strive for Excellence

Lets join together and make Walmart prove this to their employees and their customers

Hi Judibabes, forgive my ignorance, but what exactly is being discrimiated? Is there no upper management that are female? Is the general work force male? I'm in Canada and notice that the general floor staff, in three of the WalMarts, is a mixed gender. Is your crusade specifically in the U.S.?

A class action lawsuit is in progress for gender discrimination. Women are not being paid the same wages as the men for the same positions. Also, women are being over looked for some management positions. Each Walmart store is different as far as management and pay go, but gender discrimination is being investigated in each.
Not sure about Canada but I am now interested in finding out more about that. Walmart is owned by the same people whether they are located in the US or Canada so the protest would make sense there also. But, you wouldn't celebrate Thanksgiving, therefore the day after thanksgiving in Canada would not be the biggest shopping day of the year. In the US it is. Hope this helps answer your questions.

Thanks for getting back to me J. There was actually an article in the paper, a few weeks back, explaining the inconsistencies of the pay for men and women. I didn't realize how bad the gender issue is. The article does refer, specifically, to the U.S. If I could partake in the protest, I would.

Honestly, why do people shop at Wal-mart? I've had my first visit there ever about two weeks ago and pledged to never go back.

Wal Mart I hope they start to pay bennies to all employees my neighbor daughter just stated working there just under the minimum hours to have bennies. They actually had a class that told you the ins and outs appling for state and federal bennies. What a complete and utter disgrace for a major corp

They (Walmart) are the most rude people (management, customer services, employees) I have ever experienced. The last time I went into a Walmart was 1995 and I want go back. I was grossly embarrassed and treated ugly in the front of customers. I want go back.

Out of the 3, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and Target, why has Wal-Mart been the target of all this negativity for the last several years?

When I go into a Wal-Mart, K-Mart or Target, they're all messy, management sucks, and most employees are not knowledgable and rude. I just want to know why everybody hates Wal-Mart the most.....

I mean, they're all the same to me but my preference out of the three is Wal-Mart cuz I save 2 to 3 cents on everything that they sell compared to K-Mart and Target pricing. LoL. I'm a cheap *******.....

I rather continue to pay the high price and fill my gas tank up with 100% clean & pure Iraqi oil rather than to put bdgee's green, yellow and purple bird slime in my gas tank any day. I love my cars and trucks too much to do that.

Listen..... Go drive your beat-up and rusty Partridge Family school bus all the way to San Francisco, and be sure to wear that flower in your hair and I'm sure "those people" will accept "your type".
