Now that there is a ".11 and up board" and a ".10 and under" board and also a NASDAQ board, what is the purpose of keeping the "Hot Stocks Thread"?

Why not just have people post their "hot" stocks in the various price categories on the appropriate board?

What's happenning now is that there ends up being two threads about the same stock. FHAL is a perfect example of this. And often the .11 and up thread gets ignored entirely, with stocks that are over .11 being put in the hot stocks thread. Seems we have one redundant thread.

What ever happenned to this idea, which was a good one:

quote:
Someone suggested to separate pinks from OTC:BB and I think that's a great idea, because it divides forums by the risk level rather than the price.

I dont think we want to have to many forums, because there are really good people in each section that could provide advice in different categories.

How about:

1. Pinksheets
2. OTC:BB
3. NASDAQ/AMEX/NYSE

Regardless of the price range.

We all know that the price will increase as we move down from pinksheets to NASDAQ.

Any thoughts?

A couple more examples of two threads running simultaneously in both the "hot stocks" and the "under .10"

RSHN, DGTP

I realize that people will say that they were under .10 and are now over .10, However, wouldn't it be better just to keep posting in the same thread until the admins move it to the over .11 thread?

Hot Stocks kind of a cross between "Day Trading" thread and the "price appropriate" thread. Ostensibly, the price appropriate thread will have the DD, Hot Stocks the daily chatter... sometimes it's vice-versa (ahem...) Also, Hot Stocks allows "unregistered" vistors to post--or at least, traditionally--haven't checked that lately. Anyway, basically, Hot Stocks more "freewheeling" is the idea... shorter answers, quick-hitters...tends to be more of a "vet" dealie...

I think jo4321's idea is terrific! That would be much more organized and methotical. Just my 2 cents.

Jo4321 brought up a great observation. I have poked around here off-and-on for a couple months now and have noticed this too. from a standpoint of a new member i think orgnizing the posts to risk levels would be a very useful system.

Not only will it distinguish the "relitave" risk if the exchanges, but it will nicely catalogue the stocks in their proper exchanges.

I like the hot stock thread. doin great with the day runner thread there Tex... great idea. I wish I could spend more time here. Once the stock is no longer a "hot stock" then someone who is swinging it could start a thread in the appropriate section and try to keep it up to date. The major run may only last a day or two. My NRGX had its run and I waited about a month to start a thread on it so it would retrace (starting a thread right away imo may lure people in to a retreating stock - that wouldn't be good - unhless glass is watching so he can short it [just kidding!!]). The one thing i like about this format is that if it isn't an active stock the thread dies with it. But at the same time, because it isn't seen it isn't heard when it has its nice bottom bounce to get ready to get back in the running. I'm not an active trader like some 'o you folks so I only track a few stocks. But if you see one of your day runners make the retrace and catch it back on the flip side bring it back up on a new thread (or previous thread) in the right section. Good to see you guys. Hope to see more people get back in here!
