HOUSTON, Texas, April 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Austin Chalk Oil & Gas, Ltd. (OTC:ACKO) (BULLETIN BOARD: ACKO) has announced that it has acquired a working interest in the Beeson #2, a producing well located in the Giddings field of the Austin Chalk in South Central Texas. The Austin Chalk formation in this area is 735 feet thick and the lower interval is highly productive. This well, when drilled in September 2003, drilled only the upper lateral. Drilling stopped prior to entering the lower interval due to the largest working interest owner (75%) defaulting on his share of drilling expenses. This presents a unique opportunity as in the near future, the operator intends to drill the lower, higher paying interval. Even if the lower lateral were never brought into production the Company would still recover its investment in 12 to 15 months. The Company believes that completion of the lower lateral should result in a production rate of an additional 300 barrels of oil per day.
