I mean parents, co-workers who are in netflix. With the combination of DVD's and Videos we can pull both markets and have an added value over Netflix who has 1.5 million subscribers and Mr. Reed CEO of Netflix it to rise to 5 million by 2006. Right now there are 300 million people in the USA and netflix has only .005% and making about 30 million a month. But GamezNflix has not even rented "one" dvd yet to the public. I find it out of character of Mr.Laporte to speak of something he has no knowledge of. I am an avid fan of the TechTV network and just am speaking of Mr.Laporte from viewing history. He usually does not speak of anything he does not know about. Just find it strange that is all. His mention of "stock skyrocketing" does seem to peg this stock as the one. I am pretty sure that radio talk host was talking about this company. If he doesn't have his facts quite straight, this would be consistent with "off-the-cuff" remarks. Personally, even if he is a little screwy on this, personally I think it is very positive to have this company mentioned on radio, even if just casual mention. Purl Gurl IP: Logged

He is now telling everyone about it. I think that maybe you don't quite have the facts straight. According to the show notes he(Laporte/host) spoke of Netflix today. Not that it has any bearing on the future of this stock at all....as Marty and others have pointed out DVD piracy may very well be a real concern, but it does not appear to be hurting NetFlix and from what I can tell doesn't seem to be hurting any number of merchants either. I also know MANY of my friends who do too, ages probably ranging from 23-32. I think it is something our generation of people grew up doing and will continue to do. Even now, when I have get togethers with all my college buddies, we will inevitably have video game tourneys. Funny thing too- Recently I have been talking to my mom about this stock. She actually likes the idea, enough to buy a few shares herself.
