You either chase them and lose because they never fly for more than a day for the most part, or 3 days max. Too hard to truely day trade... look at TNTI today.... it took in the 10's of millions of shares to drive it up to .0045, but today only 1.5 million in the morning to drive it .0025 to .0018 (down 28%)... these OTCBB just drop without any trades actually happening?! what's with that?? seems like MM manipulation... or what else?

You can't try to call a bottom on ones constantly going down, because they keep going... though I got lucky with SEIH at .0025 to 5 cents woooo....

They're constantly F#$%ing the shareholders with constant reverse splits and share issuances (PCOR, who's had like 10 symbols over the years)

no OTCBB has ever been a hold except maybe MOBL

so how do we win?????? thoughts?

Pretty hard to win. This level of the market should be viewed as entertainment only and if you happen to hit one, great but I wouldn't plan on it. If you can sit at a computer all day the best way to do it is Dardadog style. Get in and out quick, take 10 - 30 percent and move on to the next. It's almost impossible to do though unless you can devote most of the day to it. Outside of that, it's mostly luck.

If you want something more stable you have to start looking at the stocks between the .50 and 1.00 pps range. One I like right now that has been real steady and looking like a solid company is IBTGF. Has a really good out look and seems to be growing real well. Doesn't usually lose the pps gains it makes real quick. It was down around the low 50 cent range about a couple of weeks ago and then jumped up over a couple of days into the 60 cent range and has been hanging there ever since. No large drastic up and down swings in a short period of time. It usually goes up slow and will come down slow.

no they do not because dardadog as well as other's have made good money on them. I have made some but just about even as I am still learning to pull the trigger when there is profit rather than to ride hoping it will go back up. profit is profit as long as it is profit every day. some days better than others. You just need to know how to jump quicker rather than slower. If you jump quicker you get in in time to profit. if slower jump little or no profits.

IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO PLAY... THE BEST ADVISE IS "DON'T" YOU WON'T win at most of these stocks... you'll take some good hits until you learn HOW to play!!! JMO

Upside it right on this one when he says that you pretty much have to have the luxury of being able to sit in front of the computer all day to watch when it is a good time to get in and get out. You can't play these right if you put a buy in before you leave for work in the morning and then check you stock at night when you get home. You have to basically be on top of it almost every minute.

They don't all suck, some are criminal scams. Just seen AFRN brought back up just today.

That is 100% correct. When one of these do scream upwards, set an exit point and stick to it. With very few exceptions, they tend to fall as quickly as they rose.

Just wondering, does anyone here short stocks? Or is this a dirty word?
I understand it is a valid trading technique if you know what you're doing and it seems easier to predict which pennies go down instead of up.

Posted by kbpkt on :

You can't short any stock that is below $5 per share. Average investors can't short a penny stock.

Posted by tigertony on :

You can't short penny's.

Posted by tigertony on :

Boy if you could i would short every stock listed on this board and be rich, you have to get in on new's,rumors, volumne, combined and get out fast with a profit and find another. There like fleeting moments in time, catch it and let it go.If you fall in love just like real life bad things happenLOL.Good Luck

We would all be rich if you could short pennies. Instead of hating companies like ARFN, we would love them.

Upside is right.

I started trading this pennies about 6 months ago and was down about 50%, not a huge amount, trying to swing trade them.

I took 30 days of leave this month, signed up for OTCCHARTS and sat my ass in front of the computers for the past 3 weeks.

Guess what? I made my money back and more.

The OTCCHARTS news streamer have to be one of the fastest. It will give you a least 1 or 1 1/2 minute head start before you start seeing all the buys coming in.

I got on AMHI and AACS, when news first came out, and CORR today for 30 - 40 % gains. I even played TFCT from .019 to .024 on the Appropaition Bill news.

Now I Know this is the only way to play these pennies.

It is a shame, since I will have to go back to work next Monday.

regarding shorting... I think the pros all do that.... and the mob... thats why these all go down.... they short the **** out of them and short shares they never borrow somehow.... short and never cover.... it's all a big scam, Dateline NBC knows about it but won't run the story... there's a web site that talks about that.. I forget which one.... but google "Naked shorting Dateline" and you'll probably find it, or other info on naked shorting.... and all this recent stuff earlier in the year where the SEC finally put rules in to avoid naked shorting and all of a sudden all these stocks started being listed on the Berlin exchange where they could be shorted... google "requests immediate delisting from the Berlin exchange" and see how many press releases you see on OTCBB stocks.... and the reason the criminals short is that it's less obvious theres a scam if a stock goes down, especially weak companies like this, than if they scammed it up to the moon, then it would get attention and turn heads and get investigated.... so they short, instead of pump....

and the spreads on OTCBB are ridiculous too 10% or more thats an MM ripoff right there... you can't get a fair price

and like I said before... price can just drop for no reason at all, not even because people are selling.... like TNTI on low volume on the 21st... then today 22nd it's up big on news... the drop seems like an obvious maniuplation by those MM's knowing news is coming and dropping it to get shares...

anyway... I can make some $$ here and there... but OTCBB's still piss me off because of the scams, scumbags and criminals behind the scenes....

I'll check this OTC charts thing... is there a web site?

Honestly, i've been playing holdem quite frequently with the low volume on the pennys, trying to make a little bank.

I have actually been playing and watching for 8 years. I helped pay my way through college by playing, and I still play all the time. ESPN has actually been airing the World Series for almost a decade, usually late at night, but it didn't catch on until last year. I've actually played in World Series events for the last 3 years. But I would agree that a lot of people who play the pennies either play or at least watch poker. Its the gambling spirit and the sense that the average Joe can get lucky and get rich quick. I totally agree that the risk factor is a driving force behind both activities.

Do you play online or in a brick and mortar casino? I play online every once in a while, I use to play on PartyPoker, and I recently switched over to Doyles Room, but I play most of the time in a brick and mortar casino. In San Diego, we have 8 or 9 casinos in the area. Poker has been really good to me since it got so popular in the last couple years. All these new people and kids who see it on T.V. are flooding the local casinos, especially the college kids who are wasting their tuition money trying to play. The flood of new players has been good to the people who have been playing for a while. Especially when an online player comes into the casino and has no idea how to compose him/herself and gives away obvious tells.

i played at the bicycle club 20 yrs ago or so. I have been playing mostly thru my online casino/ sports book. Just started playing steadily and reading a few months ago, as my bank roll grows i move up in ante currently at 3/6.

I prefer a 10 person no limit match (one tabele) payout is 50/30/20% i usually can finish in top 3 decent bank without the risk. entry price depends on what ya want to spend.

have a couple of casinos within an hour but haven't played their yet.

When I'm up in LA, I play at either the Bike or Commerce. I prefer Commerce, but the Bike isen't bad either. They have some crazy games going on up there.

ya that place was huge, boston now so closest casinos are CT. still get killed at the large free-rolls last time i played came in 70th out of 570. getting better but not very good at all.

Intel started out at .19. Most companies start out small. Watch out for scams though. I read about an ex-stockbroker that got barred from Wall Street and 30 yrs later started a business in Fla and was selling stock to it. The business consisted of a telephone and answering machine.
