We've got a 10 - 1 showdown coming up. What do you think, we should put something on the line, no? Maybe some Wisconsin cheese for some Texas.....well, whatever the hell you have in Texas that's any good.

Texan mexican food?

mmm...tamales..

Posted by T e x on :

There, that's better. Ok, I'll put up 2 pounds of fresh Wisconsin cheese of your choice from this place:

http://ehlenbachscheese.com/index.php

and pay for the shipping.

I think there's a hot sauce place in Texas that I used to frequent. If I can find it maybe that'll be your offering?

Don't remember. It was an on-line site. I'll find it tomorrow, I'm sure I've got it saved on one of the 'puters.

You really think the Pack can stand up to the Cowboys Up?

I know they pretty much put my Vikes in dresses and had them doing the can-can three weeks ago but the Boys play a different kind of game.

You guys see the Eagles chin up to the Patriots last night??? Un-freakin-believable! Pat's chances of going 16-0 just got a lot slimmer in my opinion. Everyone is going to be studying that tape.

Posted by bdgee on :

Yes, after what the Eagles couldn't do against the Boys, I figured they couldn't do it in spade against the Pats. Proves the wisdom of not assuming any pro team can whip up on any other at will.

Posted by T e x on :

I think the Cowboys exposed the first the chinks in the armor...was actually surprised the Colts didn't hang on...

"You really think the Pack can stand up to the Cowboys Up?"

sure...I like the Cowboys' chances, but what if Romo has a Buffalo-type day?

Should be quite a match...

Posted by cottonjim on :

Sux the game is going to be on the NFL network, it would be a great game to see but the channel is not picked up by my cable provider. Might have to go find a bar that has a dish on Thursday night.

Posted by T e x on :

ya, that's stoopid--we get it broadcast here cuz it's sold out. But what a lamebrain idea that was for other folks...

Posted by bdgee on :

In a day before cable or dishes, they shut down local broadcast of both college and pro games that weren't sold out a couple of weeks prior to the game. You'd a hadta pick a bar in a town a hundred miles or more away at least!

i pic the pac to win!

Get a six-pac!

I already have 5 grants bettin on da 'boys by 6. Sucks if I wont be able to watch the game.

Probably not. I'll take the Pack and the points though. I'm just hoping they prove they can play in the big boy league. I don't really expect them to win but a close game would be nice.

Hey, I wasn't betting the spread...hedzup, baby [Wink]

I hope you both win, then....

Get the sh*tz from the hot sauce, and constipated from the cheese

Posted by T e x on :

Thanks for the sediment, luhoozer... Obviously we would mix them for a tasty, chip-dippin' game-watchin' delight...thereby preventing what you so fervently hope for.

lol...

that *would* be priceless...go to OT and neither team scores...

wonder what the home-field tie-breaker would be?

Posted by T e x on :

You know?

This really hasn't been mentioned much...but both teams are playing for sumpin--unlike, for example, 'Boys v Pats.

Obviously, the expectation is we meet again in NFC Champs match...Pack would *much* rather play us there...and obviously, we do *not* wanna go there at that time of year...

Anybody who remembers or has seen highlights of the "Ice Bowl" years knows what I'm talking about...*still* a craw-sticker for long-time KaBoyz fans, lol

I think that they don't want to tip their hands, but that lucky ass Favre can't tip it when he's throwing under handed, behind the back, no look, w/ his eyes closed, while getting sacked...for a touchdown. Chit Steve Nash wouldn't even try to pull off.

Posted by T e x on :

tip their hand? really?

I think they'll go all-out, hoping to force the Cowboys into a late-season repeat of the Ice Bowl... remember, unlike Randy Moss, Favre hasn't been real successful in Texas Stadium...

Posted by Highwaychild on :

yeah, I don't know. I think they'll see each other again here in a about a month and half. I think they won't show each other too much... kind of like the Colts-Pats game, wasn't all that flashy, but a great game none the less. Just think they'll be saving something for later.

Posted by T e x on :

well...unlike some hyped in-season games, this one actually is important. Perhaps not crucial, but important. What's really tricky is, neither the winner nor the loser can let the result eat away at 'em...

Posted by Highwaychild on :

Something tells me the result will be... you eating away on some cheese.lol

Posted by T e x on :

Shoot, he'd send me that, anyway... and vice-versa...

I get your meaning, though. And...I think so, too.

If you've followed the posting you know I was telling Up early on that the Pack was headed for a great season. I figured the young guys would get better, and Favre's absolutely galvanizing as a leader--at this point? He is Legend. Those young cats will follow him into the Maw of Disaster.

The plus for us is more balance, and quite a bit of depth. I think we've got more depth than during the The Triplets era...certainly more than we had by the time of their third Superbowl.

lol, I'll never get over Jerry's firing Jimmy...letting him go, whatever. Four in a row was....r-i-g-h-t there, lol... That record would stand a loooong time.

Gotta iron out this point spread issue before kickoff tomorrow.

you win! name your sauce...

I don't do da spread--ESPECIALLY with the Cowboys!

Posted by Upside on :

So it's straight up or not at all? Man, just because you're from Texas and might carry a lasso doesn't mean I'm just gonna jump into it.

Posted by T e x on :

lol, I said you win...

hell, I don't even know the spread...

Posted by Upside on :

Boys are favored by 6-1/2.

Posted by T e x on :

Those wily oddsmakers, lol...

Obviously, it could be decided late, with a field goal...

I don't care...you want the points, take 'em...

this is a friendly, not a "grudge match"...

Glad you ain't from PhillY [Big Grin]

I'm just glad I got the NFL Network. There's so many people that aren't even going to see the game of the week. I bet it's just the beginning of the NFL going pay-per-view one of these days.

Posted by bdgee on :

I agree, Hwy.... The NFL is way way out of line on this, ignoring the very people that made them billionaires.

Locally, we have the worst of that with J. Jones wanting to charge multiple tens of thousands of dollars just to enter the bidding for seats in the new stadium the City of Arlington let him build with way too much public money involved.

But what the hey?????

They transferred over thirty million in public funds into dubya's pocket with the Ballpark steal.

In my lifetime I expect to see all sports only on pay tv and the common man priced completely out of the show.

Could maybe it be a regenerating tool for minor league baseball? Would be a wonderful thing for so many small towns that lost them years ago. A summer evening watching a mixed bunch of on the way down used-to-be's that were once up and understand how to play the game and some 18 and 19 year old wanna-be's learning to handle the grind of professional ball going through a C or D league was a delightful pass-time for the whole family once upon a time.

Posted by Highwaychild on :

yeah, it ain't right... but you're probably right. The last big boxing match(big name anyway) I saw on free T.V. was a fight on a Sunday morning when Evader Holyfield fought somebody to help some charity about 6 years ago I guess. You never see a big fight for less than 39.99 any more.

I just saw Ditka pick the Packers 21-17 on ESPN a while ago Upman.Hummm

Posted by Upside on :

Ouch. The Pack just announced that two of our key defensive players are out for the game. Not looking good for old Up here.

Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders...mmmmm

That L'ville-Rutgers game on ESPN is going to be pretty good too.
The 'Vill gonna teach dem some foosball tonight!

wheee...good series, exciting...bad call on Ware, though--he moved UP, not across...Hope that's not a pattern. Would like to see a well-called game, for both sides...Each side was close to 6, though. Near interception that would've been TD, and near bomb that would've been TD...

3-0 Pack

another exciting series, weeeeee

Refs struggling, though... lottsa chit flyin'

3-3

Heard that...I even bucked up to get the NFL Network and still can't get the games...If all the smaller cable providers started dropping the NFL Network from their lineups maybe they would get the message...I would of loved to be in the boardroom when the NFL pitched the fee schedule to Comcast...
