Maybe we can get this board started again. Everyone please tell me what you think of this idea. Some of you may remember me posting something like this months ago, but it never got anywhere...but I would like to try again.
I would like to suggest a new penny pick contest. Each person picks only one stock a week that they like(2 if one is a short and one a long). You should tell why you like the stock, and post as much DD on it as you can. If each of us do this on one stock per week, we should cummulatively be able to compile some good stocks to watch/or buy.
I would also like to suggest that the stock have less than 200mil O/S, and be trading near or at 52 week lows.It should also have good volume or potential for it. The key to finding good pennies is trying to beat the rest to the game.
Under this thread should only be responses to the idea of having a weekly pick thread.
Don't post your picks yet, til we see if everyone wants to do this...cause we will need to start a new thread each week for the new picks.
My idea of the perfect penny week thread would be, each person posting a stock that they have already narrowed down because of lower float, trading at lows, and good volume, specifying long or short. They would then bring the pick to the board with their DD, allowing everyone else to cut through having to do extensive DD on each stock. Of course you still would want to do DD, but it would help to have some here already.
I also think you should be responsible for informing the board(for that week for short, for longer if long) of any news, or important info about it. It sounds like alot of work, that's why I think one pick per week would be best. Some may prefer one pick per month. Maj rule on how this thread will go ok?
ALl input is appreciated, and this is just my model...the end result could be very different. So everybody speak up and let me know your ideas about doing this...

Thanks for reading my "spiel"
Sarah

I think it is a cool idea Sarah. It seems like you've laid out all the specifics except for a price limit.

Possibly strange question...but is there a way to keep it from creating its own hype...as in when Glassman says go long on *** - everyone buys?

I like to keep my optimist nature in check.

Thanks Lee for responding...I was beginning to wonder if this was a bad idea..
Hmm...well as for price, whatever is considered a "pennystock" that being under 5.00 usually, but we could keep it under 3.00. I think that is a good range for the majority of people here.
It wouldn't be allowed to be a P&D, the stocks would be checked to be sure they weren't front-loaded, mostly near lows takes care of that.
We would just post them here, on a thread that would be created weekly for them. The person posting would be obligated to bring any news concerning their pick to the board for that week anyway.
By researching the co, o/s, business model,
and chart performance could tell whether a "bounce" play or a "long" hold.
Lee, feel free to jump in with suggestions for how to do this better or any input k?

Sarah

Board get started again when we get another 10 bagger. ONEV (the great) haha past play I still have hope but the major run has happened. Can you find anything for alternate energy -the high oil prices will increase research on a new source again, diabetics-americas #1 killer, new healthcare com-obvisous, or maybe even a new electronic gadget coming out-always great to have. Thats where my time has been spent trying to score another big sleeper. And check out anything god posts til then

Here's a few sleepers. I'm not in any but watching.
USWF PK US Wind Farm I talked to the main man yesterday says he planning to get off pink slips. Thinking about reverse split. Wind energy is growing like weeds but not many investing opportunities.
FNPR Recents shift in personnel. Very experimental and not focused but the new wind turbine is most interesting.
SBJX Great possiblities judging from their pick of models. WOW Try to get her phone no. No volume yet but huge potential.
I'm not experienced in DD, I follow my gut
so I'll appreciate your feedback.

Sarah. Just read your rules. We're in pennies. There are no rules. Lets just try to share good ideas and information. That would be refreshing.

That's what most boards do Gray.
This board(from what I thought) was supposed to be a board to help someone, even newbies take 1k and turn into 100k....
Chris, I have my 10 bagger in UGHO...where were you?
We don't need this board if we are just posting, and not learning. We have the other allstock threads...like under .10 and over .10 for just posting on.

Same your way sarah yout a asset to the board Here is something I dug up online. Looks like a full write up for one of my bigger buys-Im still speclating

Subject: SHGY, a Hidden Gem OR Just another Company ?

SearchGuy.com Inc (SHGY.pk)

A Hidden Gem OR Just another Company ?

Let me introduce you to Searchguy.com (OTC: SHGY), one of the newest
and most innovative search engines on the net today...

If you were offered the chance to buy Google.com or Yahoo at .50
cents, would you jump on the opportunity? Well, SHGY is presenting
that exact opportunity to investors... Do a direct comparison between
Searchguy.com and Google.com , Yahoo.com , or Askjeeves.com ( All
billion dollar market cap stocks) and see how the results differ.
Most of the time you will see you get much better search results with
Searchguy.com ...This is a ground floor opportunity to purchase what
may be the direct competition to Google.com in the VERY near future.

Google.com`s Recent 2.3 billion dollar initial public offering
has
brought it to a staggering 37 billion dollar market cap and a
whopping Price Earnings ratio of 190. ! Yahoo.com is currently
trading with a 46 billion dollar Market cap and a Price to Earnings
ratio of 134, Even MAMA.com an underachieving search engine with an
income of only 1.2 million dollars is trading with a Price Earnings
ratio of 57 , and if a company like Looksmart.com Who is losing 5
million dollars a year net can have a 170 million dollar market cap I
believe that no matter how good or bad Searchguy.com's financials
will be the hype factor surrounding these stocks should bring its
market cap to 100 million$ which would be 2$ a share. This is also a
very conservative estimate because if and when this search engine
were to get widespread usage, I believe we could see a spike to as
high 3-4$ within the next few months.

Some Important Points to Consider (most information provided by the
company)

* No debt – The company is fully financed by private investors as
Google was in its early stages and does not need any financing for at
least the next 12 months ( note this is where most bulletin board and
pink sheet companies fail in their share price , because their
development stage status and need for financing brings the wrong kind
of financiers to the table who just seek a maximum return on their
investment within the shortest amount of time).
* Enough cash to at least till September of 05 without the need to
access debt or additional equity (Low Cash Burn Rate).
* Generating Revenue + cash flow positive ("We can exist and make a
profit on what we already have in our client base").
* Audit currently undergoing, anticipated to be completed soon.
* Quotation on the Nasdaq as soon as possible.
* NO Risk of Dilution: The Company has received several calls from
large investors and some institutions asking for shares. The Company
has stated again and again, that Insiders aren't interested in
selling any stock.
* O/S 50M: Was Just DECREASED by a cancellation of 50 million shares
by the company.
* Float 14M: Free Float is 4M and in Strong Hands; most % of the
Float (10M shares) controlled by Insiders who aren't selling.
* MOBILE SEARCH: This new technology will allow users to browse the
internet from any Palm Pilot or Blackberry device, as well as
internet enabled mobile phones. SearchGuy Mobile has been tested in
over seven countries, with an average result time of just over two
seconds per search query.
* Geographical expansion into other continents (Japan, UK, Spain,
Italy…)
* Hot Sector: With the Google.com IPO that just happened and the
overall momentum and hype in the Search Engine Sector, Searchguy.com
is a company that is set to benefit from the upcoming
* Institutional Support (several speculative hedge funds accumulating
it)
* Toolbar V2.0: The launch of this updated version of the
Searchguy.com application is going to have a built in Firewall and
Spy-ware detector.
* Exposure: With the recent launch of the National Advertising
campaign , Searchguy.com is investing in its future by spending money
on exposure.

IN CONCLUSION I believe that after reviewing the FACTS, It might be
that the other Search Engines are just plain overvalued or maybe
Searchguy.com is just undervalued , as an investor I feel the
equilibrium will need to be met and it doesn't look like
Yahoo.com or
Google.com are coming down anytime soon. So I say SHGY is a HIDDEN
GEM.

I agreed that SHGY - SearchGuy could be a gem.
With their search engine geared to the mobile user and IM user they could hopefully by word of mouth and targeting young people grow rapidly.

Sarah. You are right. Maybe we do need a thread just for POSTING PICS but perhaps we could reduce the rules down to 3 simple criteria. That will make it easier to understand and follow.
Your posts are really thoughtful and I do appreciate your sharing.
Start a new thread on this board as SARAH'S PICS OF THE WEEK or something like that. You have my support and admiration.

I like the company looks interesting, has potential it seems... I HATE THE INDUSTRY so thats why I'd stay away from it. But that means absolutely nothing. If you got a method of picking out .com companies you have a gift I dont have

I'd deffinately watch it though, I'd probably wait for google to start cooling off though. But then again people want to try and find a 'discount google' which could give attention to this company. I was in on LOOK awhile back, barely made money on that.

I think the main question is, what is this company doing thats different?

Sarah, we need your insight.

I'm in SBJX and MRKL and intend to just wait for some profits. Wasn't bothered by the selloff yesterday in SBJX. Seems like somebody put some money on Kerry and had to cash out but it's already bouncing back.

As I speak a MM decided to play ball. The ask on SBJX is .15 a good entry price.

Gray,

Though the price dropped substantially, I wouldn't call that a sell off. I think it was one sale that took it down. The bid/ask was something like .10/.19. The MM's are maintaining a ridiculous spread.

People are finally getting orders filled under .15 today. I took a little profit two weeks ago, but with the tiny float I would keep the bulk of your shares for the semi-long term. This one could be a zip code changer.

Gray,
As for MRKL it is a good otc stock. With Bush re-election it should do well. My opinion on it would be to avrge down if you are in higher or to hold if you are in lower.
SBJX has seen excellant gains lately, If I were to hold long I would sell off for some profit and keep free shares. I would not hold all because stocks always pullback some.

That's why I posted the "penny rules" so that people wouldn't come to this board and be misled as I was when I got started. No, I didn't come expecting to get rich quick...I was told I could by the board moderator. Of course they knew better than that, so if I've been helpful to at least one person here...then I've done good
As for posting a thread for me, it doesn't seem to be a popular idea. I think it would be great if the people here continue to research for low float, real co. pennies that they can make some profit from. I have been moving more into nasdq and amex stocks lately and am pretty involved in that.
I will check here once in awhile, but will not post anymore picks because I will no longer be researching pennies.
Good luck everybody, be realistic and you'll do great

Sarah
