Religion as it affects individuals is usually not troublesome to others. Like a flu or cold, the affect of religion on masses is almost always a detriment to a society and the survival of its people.

Why do you post links to that trash? Have you absolutely no respect for anyone else's religion?

For those curious, the Great Seal can be found here:
funny i found another whiny article about how the EVANGELISTS are complaining cuz they can't preach to a captive audience that doesn't wanna hear what they are selling...
has nothing to do with the great seal

Thats interesting. I don't see anyone elses religion being attacted except for the Christian. And its not Aragorn243 that lacks the respect. Just look at the attacking reply.

I thought you a better person than to participate in that sort of character assination. Perhaps I have misjudged you.

Sorry about that guys. That wasn't the link I intended for this thread. I posted that link on the separation of church and state thread and must not have copied the other right.
What trash? It was a news article. It is apparent that you have no respect for anyone that disagrees with your narrow interpretation of the world. That is unfortunate......for you.

Oh, I respect people's opinion that respect others and other's opinions. You would do well to consider trying it rather than resorting to name calling and insults.
You posted a link claiming it to be a link to the great Seal and it turns out to be a horribly extreme evangelist propaganda link. That's trash. Now if you "mistakenly" copied the wrong link, I'm sorry for you, but that doesn't make it other than trash.
Now, weren't you asked to show where in the Great Seal there is any evidence that the Founding Fathers intended the United States to be a Christain nation?

I have assinated no ones character, just simply pointed out what you did. There was nothing wrong with the article posted.
No glass I don't follow the leftleaning anti-christian cnn. It may or may not be true. Most likely exaggerated somewhat. IMO

You respect no one. You call people names and throw out insults and then turn around and accuse others of doing it. Sorry, doesn't wash. I haven't called you any names and any insults I've thrown your way were clearly deserved and in direct response to some trash you threw my way.
The link was a news article. It wasn't a propaganda link. It was an error which I admit to yet you aren't big enough to accept, I'm not surprised.
I don't recall being asked to show anything, let alone evidence that the Founding Fathers intended the United States to be a Christian nation. I've also reviewed the above posts and no, no one asked me that. Where did YOU see that?

see the topic's first post... sheesh..
Timber... refusing to read CNN is like closing one eye and expecting to see the whole picture.... that "situation" at the Air Force academy has caused quite a few repercussions thruout the military not the least of which is the article that Aragorn "erroneously" posted...

The link set forth as legitimate material was a lure to trap honest people into a bunch of bigoted bull! It was NOT what it was claimed to be. Just like the fake letters that come to my house and, when opened, instead of being an "URGENT" message from the City or the police or the IRS, as they claim to be, are ads or are from some sick evangelical group of jerks that send me trash!
What do I do with it? It's trash, what do you suspect I would do with it? If I could I'd make sure each jerk that cluttered up my world with such trash had to hear about it.
TRASH!
Grow up!

bdgee, I put junk mail, rocks, smashed beer cans, etc. in the return envelopes and send em back. If everybody did this they wouldn't be able to afford the postage and would find a different way to invade our lives with their crap.

That question was posed specifically for me? I never claimed the founding fathers intended this nation to be Christian, I have no reason to believe the seal has anything to do with Christianity.
bdgee,
You are the one that needs to grow up. The link was posted as a mistake. If you check the other thread, the exact same link is posted there and is posted prior to this one. I'm sure you can view the timelines.
It was a cut and paste error. You are wrong.
As for it being trash, that simply shows your total intollerance for anything concerning religion. It is not trash, it is not propaganda, it is a news report on a current event which is happening NOW, not years ago, not in the future. When news is trash, that shows me that you fear something. That you fear news is irrational.

OK, here's where the BIG lie is: on your Evangelical website...
The "wall" was understood as one-directional; its purpose was to protect the church from the state.
that's a crock o'chit....
just as you claiming not to know what the evangelical movement is the homepage of the website you posted the link to is an evangelical website http://www.noapathy.org/
strider, you do no service to Christiandom with the prevarications....
this is bold-faced evangelism in it's naked form...
# Be the army of God we the Church, the Body of Christ, are called to be. # Proclaim the full, complete counsel of God and the word of our testimony, in the Blood and the Cross. # Confront sin and watered-down, apathetic, compromised, fake, lip-only Christianity. # Encourage weary warriors in the Body of Christ. # Train in the Way. # Equip the Body of Christ in the times and seasons. # Share as partakers of the Holy Spirit. (radical-chat) # Minister reconciliation. # Network and advance the kingdom of God by the power and grace of the Holy Spirit.
you didn't learn this stuff rom reading the constitution and deducing it, you are brainwashed

it's actually pretty funny, except these guys are probablty serious.... check this out where these guys claim: Our U.S. Constitution was founded on Biblical principles and it was the intention of the authors for this to be a Christian nation.... ...That means that 94% of all quotes by the founding fathers were based on the Bible.... ....An example of an idea taken from the Bible and then incorporated into our government is found in Isaiah 33:22 which says, "For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king..." The founding fathers took this scripture and made three major branches in our government: judicial, legislative, and executive.....
bunch of nutcases wrote this crap...

I don't think anyone here hates Christians, I think a lot of people everywhere wish Christians would act more like their namesake.

i don't Timber, what i hate is people that use religion to steal, justify wars and for politics...
and we seem to be seeing a lot of that lately...
Bush hired Rove to get him in office... do some real in-depth research on the guy.
Rove made a lot of promises to get the Christian vote.
he's a master at manipulating religious people...
as far as i'm concerned? there's nothing worse than people using religion for nefarious ends...
you are confusing my reaction to the POLITICS of religion and my attitude toward religion....
look at the Iraq constitution, it clearly says no law shall be made that is not in accordance with Islamic Law...that's an Islamic State... now find me a similar alw in OUR Constitution.
it' not a matter of attacking Christianity at all.
Abu Mazen, Palestinian Prime Minister, and Nabil Shaath, his Foreign Minister, describe their first meeting with President Bush in June 2003.
Nabil Shaath says: "President Bush said to all of us: 'I'm driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, "George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan." And I did, and then God would tell me, "George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq …" And I did. And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, "Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East." And by God I'm gonna do it.'"
this is what's got some of US ticked
