There is no victory in our government destroying America and destroying the dreams of our hard working American families.
Last night, I looked at a pay stub belonging to one of my elders. Back in 1956, she enjoyed a wonderful job at Catalina Swimwear. For one week of work, she grossed a $36.73 paycheck. Her take home pay, about $30.00 per week.
Although being paid less than one dollar per hour, that was good money back then.
During the Fifties, families held dreams of advancing in life, dreams of providing a good life for their children. They, eventually, enjoyed those dreams.
The Sixties came along and dreams starting falling apart. Civil unrest, Vietnam, our government deployed "Big Brother" against America, King, the Kennedys are killed.
Seventies and Eighties are lost to widespread hard drug usage, disco, and the lost war on drugs, which continues today.
The Ninties arrive ushering in an age of high corporate and government corruption, swindles, financial crimes, and financial collapse of state governments.
In this new century, schools being turned into churches, religious wars across the globe, wars which none dare to call World War III as would be appropriate.
A pattern is very clear. This is a pattern of the rich, of our government at all levels, enriching themselves at the dire expense of the salt of the earth, the working class. This is a pattern easy to recognize being so well exhibited over the past thirty years.
What we suffer today, increasing poverty, our families so financially strapped, world wide war, degrading health care, starving children, all is not the fault of any one polictian. It is the fault of unethical greedy people who dominate corporate America and our government.
Back in the Sixties, we almost had it. We almost had a good grip on the American dream. Students leading the way, "hippies" working for a better, more simple lifestyle, Dr. King, the Kennedys, all leading us to a better life, a better dream for all to chase.
They, the unethical leaders in business and in government, shot students, put "hippies" on trial and in jail, killed King, killed the Kennedys, flexed military muscle in Vietnam, and thrust Nixon upon us.
The American Dream was assassinated during the Summer of Love, 1967, by those who claim to lead us so well.
They killed America and set a precident for behavior which serves as a model, today. This is a behavior of the rich and powerful, raping America every chance possible.
