Besides the stock market, baseball is my other huge passion in life. As I'm sitting here sweating it out watching the Cubs game, I was wondering if there were any other baseball nuts here on Allstocks. Both my teams, the Angels and the Cubs are making me sweat it out here at the end of the season. I would love to start some baseball talk if anyone is interested.

The Cardinals have been incredible this year, but I don't think they are going to the series. I don't think they have the steam to make it all the way. Keith I feel your pain. I have been a fan of the Cubs my whole life, and we have had our share of heartbreaks, especially last year. My first baseball game ever was when I was 5 at Wrigley Field. Not to long after that, my family moved to Orange County, CA where I became obsessed with the Angels as well. They gave me some joy in 2002 by taking the W.S. I was actually at game six of the W.S. that year when they came back from a 5-0 deficit to win that game and the Series. Last night was a great night for Anaheim, we have a 1 game lead over the A's in the west, but the Astros just took a 1/2 game lead over the Cubs in the wild card. This last week is going to be exciting for both my teams.

Keith- do you think Pedro stays with the Sox next year? I hear the Evil Empire is courting him. By the way, thanks for Mr. Hamm, the Cubs needed him.

you can have him. whinny. Pedro probably wont stay with the sox just cause i dont think the sox will over pay for him. If they do, it will be for short years.
pedro wants a lot. I think lowe is gone also, both could be in pinstripes next year.
I'd love to see cubs sox series and the nomah thing is just a good subplot.

I can't believe Pedro said that. WTF? Even if a team has your number, you never, ever admit it. That really disapointed me. How about Milton Bradley? Talk about letting your team down. That guy is a time bomb. In So. Cal. we have two time bombs, Bradley and Guillen. At least Bradley can play in the post season, Guillen can't. I don't think Guillen will be back with the Angels next year, they have had enough of him. The Angels can get by without him, but I can't see the Dodgers getting by without Bradley. Even though the Angels lost today, how about Vlad Guererro? 4 for 4 with 2 homeruns. I think the MVP will be real close between Guererro, Sheffield, and Ramirez.

Ouch, a tough loss for the Cubs today. Although they are not out of it mathematically, for all intense and practical purposes, they're done. The next three days for the Angels are going to be exciting. It boils down to whomever can win 2 out 3 against the A's.

I have to admit that I would feel more comfortable playing the Yankees over the Red Sox. The Angels have always played the Yankees better than the Sox. We knocked them out in 2002 when we won it all, and we swept them at Yankee Stadium this year. But yes Keith, it will not be the Sox year this year. They got the unfortunate luck of being up against the Angels. Besides Schilling, your pitching is in the crapper right now. However, if the Sox get lucky and get by the Angels, then I will be rooting for them all the way.

Actually, I did. If I win all those predictions and in that many games, I win $10,000. But, if my picks win, but not in the number of games I picked, then I get nothing.

Yea, I'm in trouble with the Angels. Pedro looked good last night. We are hurting. I still picked the Angels to win in 5, so they had to lose 2 games to make that come true. I just wish it wasen't the first 2. The Angels have looked like crap the first two games. After the first two innings last night, Colon looked pretty good. Our veterans are hurting right now. Anderson and Guererro can hardly walk. We did get cheated on a few calls last night, but it wasen't enough to make a big difference, we still would have lost. Well, like I said before Keith, if you guys beat us, then I have to throw my support behind the Sox.

Thats funny! Well, if you watched the game, the governor was there, and it appears he did extend a stay of execution. At least for one more day. Lima pitched a hell of a game tonight. Although I'm not a Dodger fan, I would love to see them go to the World Series. However, being realistic, the governor only gave them a temporary clemency. The Cards are still going to win the N.L.
Keith- looks like its a rematch of last year. Yanks vs. Sox. I hate the Yanks more than anything. I hope the Sox finally get the best of them this year. Until next year....Go Sox!!

I don't know what happened to the Red Sox hitting. It was non-existent. Johnny Damon has looked terrible all series. 4 strikeouts in the first game, I think he had 2 last night, but he has 0 hits. I don't think he has even gotten on base. Very unlike him. Pedro did pitch ok last night, he just didn't have any offense to back him up. That sucks about Schilling. Its not looking good for Boston right now. Astros Cards game was pretty good last night. Astros mounted a small comeback late in the game.
