I have Scottrade too - have not done any options trading with them though. I also have Choicetrade, and have been doing all of my trading there - cheaper commissions (75 cents per contract in most cases). I have been very impressed with OptionsXpress as well, although I have not done any actual trading. That is who I would check out if you are looking for other brokers....(them and ChoiceTrade)
All IMHO

I have Scottrade also.....but I opened a virtual account with OptionsXpress to do virtual trades & so I can get used to their format. It's ok...Scottrade is a tiny bit easier to use but I would rather keep my options trading with OptionsXpress for now....just my opinion.

You can open an account online with Optionxpress and have full run of the site and not even have your account funded...
Virtual trading, and their charting (java charts w/Phophet charts) I use all the time for trying out things I come up with. Powerful charts you can resize and with cloning you can have several charts running at once.
