Dr. Laura Schlessinger – who’s been enmeshed in controversy over her repeated use of the “N” word during her August 10 radio show – has got a vocal new member on her defense team: Sarah Palin.
The Alaskan has taken to Twitter to offer encouraging words to Dr. Laura, tweeting, “Dr.Laura:don't retreat...reload!”
The radio host, 63, announced on Larry King Live Tuesday that she intends to leave radio after more than 30 years to regain her First Amendment rights.
“I want to be able to say what's on my mind and in my heart and what I think is helpful and useful, without somebody getting angry, some special interest group deciding this is a time to silence a voice of dissent and attack affiliates and attack sponsors,” Schlessinger said. “I'm sort of done with that."
And according to Palin, Schlessinger may be better off for it.
“Dr.Laura=even more powerful & effective w/out the shackles, so watch out Constitutional obstructionists,” Palin tweeted. “And b thankful 4 her voice,America!”
