I saw NCC at 6.60 and sold out of anotehr position to buy in. By the time I sold the one and set up my order to buy, it was back over $7.00. Got in at $6.96 though.
Posted by PCola77 on :
damn, that was nice. Sold for 10% gain.
Posted by PCola77 on :
Got another order to get back in if it drops back to $7.20 for anotehr run into the close.
Posted by PCola77 on :
Got back in just before the close at $7.50 to see what it does tomorrow.
No real "news" about it, so hopefully tomorrow will be a nice bounce.

Nice...Hopefully everybody made a watchlist last night...Great scalps all over the place today...GLTY
Posted by PCola77 on :
Wow, just did my first ever pre-market trade. Put in an order to sell at $8.50 and it just went through. Now I'm not sure if I shouldn't have just waited until normal hours
Won't complain about a 13% gain overnight though!
Posted by lostone on :
still looks good tho.. would you go back in PC?
Posted by PCola77 on :
Nah, every time I try to get in something again later i get smoked Posted by Jo4321 on :
EXACTLY!
Posted by SoAngel on :
Down 20% this morning.
Posted by PCola77 on :
Apparently had to cut their dividend from .21 to .01 (really, why bother having one, given teh cost associated with paying one), plus, had to sell like $8billion in shares for $5/share to get some cash. At least that's my take after a quick read. Could be more downside, so I'm sitting this one out.
Posted by BooDog on :
Bought 6.91 and 6.30 out at 6.45. lol with green. what a trip. It says my 6.45 executed at 12:39 but I don't see it on the chart. it's my demo account. Freekin delays really screw me up!.
Posted by Jo4321 on :
What the heck? I bought at $5.95 with a sell stop limit at $5.89. Look at the LOD: 5.90.
Yet my S/L executed at $5.91 The LOD was NOT $5.89, so how did that happen.
I called my broker and they basically said I'm SOL. they said it filled "on the bid"
Jo
Posted by fourseven on :
Sounds like you placed a stop limit sell order, instead of an intended stop loss sell order?
A stop limit sell order will not trigger unless there is a buyer bidding above the stop limit amount.
So whenever you place a stop limit sell order below the current bid, it will fill right away, unless it's a real bull rush.
I've mad that mistake a couple of times, pissed me off to no end until I remembered not to do it again.. Posted by Jo4321 on :

I'm totally confused now.
But you are correct, it was a stop limit.
I'm confused here though because if orders fill on the bid, then what's to stop someone from coming down and grabbing any stop even if it is way below the current price.
And why does it not even show the LOD as being $5.89 when that had to be it, since SOMEONE bought my shares.

Posted by BooDog on :
same with my spike back up in the afternoon Jo, my trades were supposed to mark real time even though i'm under a delay on my demo... said 2k sold at 12:39 at 6.45. If you have a stop limit set at a specific price and it is at or below the current price then I could see it get filled if someone even smaked the ask - the mm will take the spread in a heart beat. But if you had a stop loss set for a certain percent or price range amount and it didn't trigger the order because that criteria had not yet been met then the order wouldn't even be listed yet for the MM to see. If I make any sense at all.
Posted by Jo4321 on :
I dunno, I guess I sorta understand. But now I'm just perturbed, since this is now up over .30 since my buy. So I took a loss of $56.00 bucks instead of a gain of 300.00 (but what else is new)
Jo
Posted by BooDog on :
You're definitely not the only one having problems Jo. I feel like a ping pong ball sometimes! lol. Good luck to us all!
Posted by BooDog on :
I had an issue with VM. My stop loss failed to execute, trying to resolve that issue. Could turn out to be a good thing. If it dips even more I might just add more. in at 2.14.

4.27 - 52wk low...

4.81 Posted by PCola77 on :
had anotehr nice trade on this one today. Bought at 3.03 and sold WAYYYYYYYYYYY too early at 3.27, but can't complain about a profit.
Bought 3,000 shares of WM at 3.19 just before the close (currently 3.49 x 3.50 after hours). I love the volatility in these financial stocks. If I would have hit that FRE trade (Scottrade wouldn't let me do an online trade for 4,000 shares Friday when it was under $5), I would be on a huge roll.
Posted by SoAngel on :
I was watching NCC alllllll day long. What made you get in at 3.03 ? Good call. Even when I saw it briefly hit 2.99, I figured it was going to drop more.
How about that 16+ minute slot where it was halted ? lol- good fun.
Posted by PCola77 on :
I bought a few minutes after the halt. Honestly, bought because a guy on IHub (very good trader, I think) bought at 3.15, so when it dipped below $3 I bought. Only got a partial fill, unfortunately...
WaMu had a nice drop into the close, which often happens before a big gap up the next day. I kinda think this will be like what happened in march when the BSC thing happened and all the financials got killed. IndyMac's failure caused the big drop, so I think logic takes over tomorrow and this gets back to a more reasonable level.
Posted by SoAngel on :
It looks like I could get into Citigroup around 15.15 after hours and WaMu around 3.46 after hours. I am itching to pick something up. I played Citigroup last week and did well with it, but while the volatility in these banks is fun to watch, it scares me as well.
Posted by SoAngel on :
Citigroup falling in after hours- 15.02 can be had now.
Posted by SoAngel on :
Going to be a rought start today it looks like. WM is trading in the 3.30s, I am going to pick up a few pre-market and see what happens.
Posted by PCola77 on :
did you grab any WaMu?
Posted by SoAngel on :
I bought WB at 8.50 and was out at 8.69.
I am in WM at 3.50... sell is at 3.60.
I should've been all over it pre-market at like 3.15 <-- dumba$$.
Posted by SoAngel on :
By the time I posted that, I was out. Nice.
Posted by SoAngel on :
Now I just need a run from PIR to be out of all positions.
Posted by PCola77 on :
Oh man, you gto in at 3.50? Figured after you posted you'd have gotten in on that huge drop to under 3.20. Oh well, at least you banked some. I'm holding still. Looking for a break of $4, and given the ridiculous volatility the last few days, I think it could happen.
Posted by SoAngel on :
I just got back in * 3.30.
Posted by PCola77 on :
Nice. The S&P is down 2% right now. I just think something will happen during the day taht we have at least one point in the day when we approach green in the market overall, and these beaten down stocks will have a nice recovery, even if just temporarily.
Posted by SoAngel on :
Hope you're right I almost just took 3.50 a few min ago. lol
Posted by PCola77 on :
LOL. Well, FRE is down over 5% already since I bought in, so I'm probably wrong...
Posted by SoAngel on :
I couldn't help it... I am out * 3.45. It was just too easy. Now out of daytrades Posted by PCola77 on :
LOL, I just came over here to ask if you were out yet, as it's now running and at 3.59. Couple of nice trades there for ya today. good job.
Posted by SoAngel on :
Thanks. I need a daytrade account. Posted by PCola77 on :
I finally consolidated a bunch of accounts so now I have 1 account with most of my money, so i can daytrade in tha account, which is definitely nice.
Posted by SoAngel on :
I have 15k in now, I have been adding as I feel more confident, but I am getting anxious.
Off topic- Out of PIR now as well at 3.26 Good day today.
Posted by PCola77 on :
You don't have to say "Off topic" since our last dozen posts were about WaMu in a NCC thread .
Speaking of WM, just ran to a day high of 3.85. Pulling back some now, but hopefully will get teh run to the $4.25 range that I'm looking for as an exit.
Posted by PCola77 on :
Trying to bust through $4.00 sitting at $3.99, go you *******, go!
Posted by SoAngel on :
Man, good luck, I just got back in the car and saw high of day at 4.00, thought you might be out. Sweet either way man Posted by PCola77 on :
Didn't get out. Have my order in for 4.19. It keeps making higher highs, so hopefully she's got one last big push in her.
Posted by PCola77 on :
Well it just hit 4.19 but my order didn't fill.
Posted by SoAngel on :
Should've got it there Congrats!
Posted by PCola77 on :
yes, I *should* have. But you're mistakenly assuming that I'm not an undisciplined idiot who changes trades at the last second for no good reason...
Posted by SoAngel on :
I will trade you some of my discipline for some of your experience at a 1:1 ratio.
Posted by PCola77 on :
LOL. I signed up for Covestor the other day, and it has already made a huge difference for me in terms of not playing things that I wouldn't want other people to know I traded .
Now I just need to quit doing what I just did. As of now, 4.19 would have looked like a pretty freaking good exit... Never know how the day will go though, so maybe I'll still get my adjusted price.
Posted by PCola77 on :
Anyone have a gant wall I can repeatedly slam my head into? My initial sell order turned out to be 1 penny below the day's high. Couldn't have asked for a better exit point, and yet hre I sit, more than 10% down from there, wondering why I have no self control...
Posted by SoAngel on :
Damn bro I am having the gut feeling to get back into WM now, but I don't know how far she is going to get pushed back down here...
Posted by PCola77 on :
You should have. What was it at when you wrote that? Now at $3.80 again.
Posted by SoAngel on :
3.57 then. I have to hold overnight. I am being over cautious, I guess.
Posted by PCola77 on :
Nah, you're being smart. If somethign happens and it crashes, you can't risk having to hold.
Posted by SoAngel on :
Back in WM * 3.50.
Posted by SoAngel on :
Out at 3.75 Pre-Market.
Posted by PCola77 on :
You're playing this one like a fiddle! Nice job yet again.
(Though it's at $3.95 now...)
Posted by PCola77 on :
Okay, finally out at 3.98. Screwed myself out of $600 by pulling that order yesterday, but still made almost $2,500 on it in two days. I'll take it.
Posted by SoAngel on :
Congrats either way. I screwed myself out of a few grand by being cautious over the last 2 trading days, but I am almost fully recovered from my F loss a couple of weeks ago, so I am happy.
I guess now if I hop back into WM, I will make a new thread. Posted by PCola77 on :
Fudge... just hit the $4.36 that I was looking for. I wasnted to be at an even $5,000 gain in my account if I hadn't pulled my sell order. Stuff like that is just dumb though, to go for a random number instead of using your head on planning your exit. Oh well, another 20 years of doing this and I bet I'll learn...
