Hey guys whats up? My name is Ryan I am just getting into investing and the stock game here. I've been reading your posts to Jo and everyone. I'm 21 and going to be a senior at WVU. Anyways heres some of my questions to the experienced investors at this site...

Whats the best internet site to use for trading? I currently use sharebuilder.

I bought some Sirus Satellite radio (SIRI) and also some VLTS. What do you guys think about those and also what would you advise getting into next?

Thanks for the help I appreciate it!

Siri will be good 3 years from now.

I'd buy FRPT and pay for your college education in full in 1 year.

why would you rec. this to someone at this level? Looks like it is trying to find its support level right now. seems to be ready to dip.

impressive money & repo, but.... IMO this is now like a seeker misile. Suggest you use 3 mo, 1 mo and 20 day charts. This isn't my place but I would look for the support to back up where this might be going. Compare this to other industry in this area. JMO.

yes rm. I can't see comparing FRPT to ge, txt, lea or utx...those are over 1b rev companies. this is only around 78m. I would look for companies more comparable with this growth. I'm reviewing more but the more i look into the financials I don't see why this is where it is.

rm I have a better picture now. 495% increase over 1 year, 6M rev cleared. I would wonder when the warrants would be exercised and a debt that is due on the 21st this month. They sure look good on paper and by the pr's they seem to be producing. good future rev. expected. I can only guess what they will be worth by the end of the year for a pps. The charts seem to be leveling them off now though.

rfelmet,

Do yourself a favor and study the market before you buy anything at all.

Now is a really bad time to be in the market. Wait a month or two or more, see how things develop, learn few things, read some books, and then if you are still interested, take a dive.

First. I don't see any reason to be in SIRI. I don't know if you bought it because you liked it fundamentally or because of technicals. Technically It doesn't look good. It tried moving off $4 support but had low volume and is starting to reverse as it approaches MA(50). If it broke above MA(50) on good volume that could be your buy signal. As of now it is in a pretty serious downtrend. $4.28 is MA(50) thats your resistance and $4 is support. It could go either way but it hasn't given any buy or sell signals. VLTS had a massive gap down and formed a black candle, a good reversal indicator and it had good volume, but nothing compared to the volume on the down days recently. I would hold VLTS, but the second it turned against me I would sell it. When a stock forms a black candle after major selling and doesn't bounces 99% of the time it crashes lower. Good Luck.

sorry wasnt reading your posts.. forgot to follow it up..

anyways... so you want to compare FRPT stock performance with sector performance. FRPT has had more than 1000% increase over past 52 weeks. now compare that with the general defense industry sector.
the more you look into financials, the more you dont understand why it is where it is. lol.. OK let me tell you why it is where it is. the company has just reached into profitability. that was after it was working on first set of vehicle order it received from pentagon valued at around 50M. after that it has received 3 more orders, one in range of 50M, another in range of 50M and then last was ILAV, whose contract tieup with BAE is valued arouind $200M over three eyar period along with additional revenues from maintenance. it is here because of its outstanding contracts. it has outstanding contracts valued in excess of $300M over next 3 years timeperiod. add that to the vehicle they have designed as replacement to humvees, which has been getting lot of good feedback from defense guys. another reason is, its vehicles are probably the safest that you can find and almost on daily basis, you can see their vehicles in CNN or any other news organisation whenever soldiers are shown either in iraq or afghanistan. in the market, you either have to be the first or you have to be the best. FRPT vehicles have been ranked superior to any other vehicle out there in terms of protecting soldiers from mineblasts and IED's.
have you ever heard of a company called TASR? you have any idea what its stock used to trade at? you have any idea what its value is today? go research that.
I shall answer more questions as you shall ask!

Thanks rm, I have seen tasr, and see the potential of frpt. Figuring out how high this will go is something I'm still trying to gauge. if they throw in a split or start executing the warrants then that could slow it down. the product Vs. what it is doing and will do for our troops only adds to the momentum. I was wondering if this would be a wise recommendation for someone to jump in at this level. Knowing there are no guarantees. Sticking to the charts I'm not so sure. Reading all the contract support and future rev expected I would put this higher but not sure where.

agreed! and also, never ask anyone what stocks to pick. I think you're relatively safe here compared to other message boards, but always beware of pumpers. There's people out there who will try to make a stock look good to you when in reality it's a sh*t stock, reason for that? when they can convince a group of people that a stock is good those people will buy that stock, making the price per share go up (and meanwhile creating a sense of buying pressure), however in the meantime they're unloading their crappy stock, leaving the innocent group of people with worthless shares, that sometimes doesn't move for quite a while. So always be aware of that, apply technical analysis if you can, look at press releases, SEC filings, past performance, etc (all things you can learn from books) and you'll do fine.
The stock market is a hard world, it's a war for money. Prepare yourself for battle!

good luck to you!

Boo.. FRPT.. the stock is getting hammered because of the private placements.. not because of fundamentals of the company..

idiot management.. probably the most idiotic thing anybody would do as a management team.. well.. herez what went on.. they stock was trading around 6.35-6.4. they went and did private placement of thier stock at $5. now the institutions IMO started shorting the stock, since they can easily cover.. that might be the main reason for the sharp fall in prices of stock today. I took profits off it on Tuesday, since they stock wasnt performing the way it should after PR.. that itself convinced me that something was not right.. well.. it became evident yesterday and today.. nev mind.. i will wait for a while now before i even try to get into it.. like the way i said.. it wasnt company fundamentals but their stupidity which screwed us. i wont be surprised if someone files lawsuit against frpt for doing this crap...

You mean brokerage & not internet site(too broad a term)... so if you didn't know the word brokerage you should seriously read some books on trading... anyways i use Choicetrade.com .. below are two book suggestions for beginner's..

Mach,
Ryan's last post was near a month ago so I doubt he's still around anymore. I just saw that post on July 19th and it was so backward I couldn't help but say something even though it wasn't timely.
