Hi. This is my first post, I just registered today, and I'm also new in the trading. I already have one question I have Scottrade account, and when I did try to buy a share under $1.00 I got this messages: "If the price is under $1 at the time of execution, commission is $7 + 1/2% of the principal" Is it normal to charge 1/2% of my principal if I buy stock under $1.00 or just the Scottrade does it?

Different brokers do things a little different...but it is my understanding that Scotttrade does... Etrade, Lowtrades, choicetrades are a few that DO NOT do this...there are others...goodluck....

Thanks guys. I will try Choicetrade.com for pennies. But does Choicetrade.com has that "Streaming quotes" like Scottrade.com has? I like that "streaming quote"

Yes they do...maybe you could keep your account with Scottrade...and use them for there quotes...nothing wrong with having more than one account....
