we have an edu section on the home page; do a search on this bb for "machiavelli" and "books"; there's also a good thread recently posted by "lilpennypincher" (or click on her nick and then "view recent posts) and then hunt down "confessions of a daytrader.

Beginer, I’m also a beginner, I’ve been teaching myself to read charts and avoid getting shafted by pumpers and such since October. I need to follow Tex’s advice and get back to trading in a fantasy portfolio for a while … I’ve lost about $1,500 making rookie mistakes! Nothing like losing money to make you try harder though! Anyway, I think I might also be the newbie that Tex is talking about with the good advice …. I can’t find the thread, -must’ve fallen off … here are a couple of books to get you started.
“Trading for Dummies” by Griffis and Epstein – Get a cheap copy used on Amazon. This will give you the basics, just enough to get you started. It's the Black and Yellow dummies book, they write one for everything under the sun ya know.
The best book I’ve found on Penny Stocks: “Penny Stocks” The Next American Gold Rush by Dan Holtzclaw
There is also a lot of good info right here on this site if you dig and read. Let us know how you do pal …. And share the wealth!
