Hey all. I'm on Ameritrade and I don't have a margin account but apparently my account is negative right now.

Cash debit call

-$19.71

A cash debit call is generally issued when an executed order exceeded your cash account's balance, or when an administrative fee greater than your cash account's balance is charged. Act immediately by depositing funds, selling stock, or transferring shares to meet the call.

Current Value -$19.71

What exactly does this mean? It's Saturday so I can't do much. What happens if I don't act till monday. What happens if I don't act for awhile? Does it charge interest or something?

Thanks

don't know about Ameritrade, but I've gone over a small amount before, too. I just called the branch, and they said I'd get an e-mail in a few days requesting a sell to cover or send a check or come by...whatever. No biggie, they said. Just call em Monday to make sure they're not about to sell something you don't want em to...
