Yes, some advice. Go ahead and flush your money down your toilet, get it over with.
That is what will happen to you as a new trader.
After you flush your money, you will, hopefully, think, "That was not fun. I better learn how to do better."
With your new attitude you are then motivated to research, read and learn as much as possible.
Message boards are not for beginners. Message boards are that toilet which takes your money. We participants are here to make money, we are here to relieve others of their money, which includes you.
Research, read, study tutorials, buy and read books on strock trading, spend a year doing that, then think about dropping another load into your toilet.

Well, yeah, it's a great sight....but have we fooled you!!!! Most things you might read here that would seem to indicate actual intellect were most likely cut and pasted (that's the modern day computerese term for plagerism) from some actual thinking beings work.
Never-the-less, welcome to the nut house.

Purl Girl's advice is great. I just wish I had her linguistic abilities.
It's good to read everything you can lay your hands on before you start investing. I started with "Stocks for Dummies". I read too many others to put a name to them. I graduated to "Technical Analysis from A to Z" some time ago and I keep a copy next to the computer for reference.
I don't have a margin account yet, and I'm in no hurry. I want to get a grip on regular trading first.
I post here only rarely but I come to learn. It's amazing the odd bits I've picked up while coming here. I've learned about a lot more resources for DD than I would have otherwise.
I've lived in the asylum (NY) long enough to develop thick skin. Being a newbie, I expect no difference other then to get my ass kicked all over this house!
So. Where do I begin? Who to follow? Who to avoid?

-------------------- Let the world change you... And you can change the world.
Spend a few days reading through the post, particularly on Hot Stocks for All and you'll find that there are lots here that can be trusted and you also find that thare are many different attitudes and techniques. We are blessed with a good bunch of helpful people with high integrity and a willing ness to share their experience and knowledge. You'll find a "nitch" among them that fits you and in the process they will teach you all manner of things about trading and investing and other subjects.
