i'm fresh to the stock market , and i just knew today the meaning of selling short and wondered .. is it easy to short a penny stock after it goes up? do u recommend it?

i was under the impression that stocks under 5 bucks cant be shorted. i could be wrong however

nope you cannot sell short stocks under $5 only the mm's can short pennies thats why they make so much money...

As far as I know, only canadian and european brokers allowed to do that but not really with pennystock, but with less than 5 bucks, Oh yeah!

ok ...let's say the stocks went up from 40 cents to 6$ ... when it cross the 5$ limit can one short it?

imho no one should be able to short microcap or even the small cap companies this is just some of the reasons that good small companies get killed in the open market.never mind it opens the doors to dishonest naked shorters

really Servant you should read some books on trading if you didnt know that shorting isnt allowed on penny stocks.. also just so you know.. you cant short a stock till it upticks first... stupid rule that isnt in the futures market but hey alot of stupid rules in trading by the SEC and such...
