I hope this is the right forum for this type of question... I'm curious as to what wireless devices you all use to monitor and trade your stocks. I'm not able to be home at the computer all the time and was wondering what you guys use. Can you do it on your cellphone? What about a PDA? I have Nextel service, what about their blackberry? I'm pretty new to this, any comments and/or suggestions would help alot. Thanks.!

So the blackberry would be best, huh? Would I be able to get real time quotes on there and access my Ameritrade? What do most of you use?

Great. I'm going to start looking on ebay to see if I can't find a nextel blackberry so I can trade away from home. Thanks for the help.

You are only able to get last transaction info (versus the complete buy/sell line-up). I believe the limitation is due to the amount of the information that has to be pumped wireless to the PDA realtime (also screen real estate is a problem as you can imagine). Technology has not truly caught up with the demand of a realtime trading system. I would expect to see such functionality once the wireless providers and phone makers start pushing out broadband based phones in the near future. The screen space problem will probably be address with the new 'handtop' computers that are being produced. The service worked well while I was out and about away from my desktop machine.
Also, if you have a really good friend with L2 access, you could also load VeriChat onto your PDA and use instant messenger to stay in touch with your stocks!
The following program is great!!!! I use it all of the time as I travel arcoss the country. http://www.verichat.com/
Last but not least....I'm using sprint...to my surprise the service has been great (I have a second Verizon cell phone that provides excellent service no matter where I seem to go). For a mere $15/month sprint allows unlimited internet access via my TREO.
I hope the above information helps.
