hey i have been interested in investing for quite some time now and well i have enough money saved up for college and have a regular job, and just wanted to sort of do it on the side and see what i could come up with. but the problem is i'm only 17, i saw on etrade.com that you can set up a joint account with an adult but was wondering if i would still have the freedoms of a regular account or if there were any other places where i could do the same type of thing. and also how much does uncle sam get if you make money from investing? and what other types of fees are there?

jerry,

You might check out www.choicetrade.com.

It's less expensive - $5 per trade - and seem to be very reliable. Further, either market and limit orders are that same $5.

You other questions are much more involved for me to get in to here.

Bought my first stock at 17.

Had my father set up an account. Then I traded it. It was way before the net so back then it was the news papers and such to get information. Yea and we had to call all orders in.

where can i go to get educated in all the termenology? i know alot of the stuff you guys are talking about but with some of it i just draw a blank. i set up a demo account with choice trader and i'm interested in doing a full fledged account i just don't want to get in over my head before i know completely what everything on there means, but i guess that is why alot of people go to college for this type of thing.

jerry,

Try this site for terms and definitions:
http://www.speculativebubble.com/terms/glossary.shtml

Bob Frey, above, should be able to direct you to Allstocks' directory of terms and definitions or explanations.

Good luck to you.

Does Choicetrades charge more for otcbb or pinks? I went to website and it doesn't say, I'm assuming 5.00 for any exchange?
Also, does Choicetrade have a stop sell that can be used even on otcbb stock?

Thanks for any info,
Sarah
