FREETRADES HAS ZERO COMMISSION FOR THE FIRST 20-TRADES PER MONTH.
LOW TRADES HITS YOU FOR A PER/SHARE FEE.
AMERITRADE IS ONLY $10.99/TRADE.
THE MAJOR PROBLEM FOR MOST IS THE SETTLEMENT DATE WHICH IS GENERALLY 3-5 DAYS AFTER SALE BEFORE YOU CAN USE THOSE FUNDS AGAIN. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO MARGIN ACCOUNTS.

so what exactly are the disadvantages to freetrade then?
I know they are owned by Ameritrade and that is what I use now.
I use Ameritrades wireless trading on my cell phone a lot and I doubt freetrade has that but other than that why would I not use want to switch to freetrade?
I mean it is free foir the first 20 adn sooooo cheap after that.
I must be missing something.

I use LowTrades and have only ever been charged 5 dollars per order. Those ECN fees only apply if you are using an alternate ECN different from their default one, which you would only do for after hours trading.
