HQ had RFP's out on Colorado, Texas and Nevada jails.
Contract award dates were around the 15th of May I believe.
HQ will be putting out P/R's this coming week.
I am betting on signed contracts for more KIOSKS!

Seems like a decent stock - but with no/very low volume - I feel like I may never get out if I buy in. May buy some today. Good luck and thanks for the link.

Continental Prison Systems Signs Its First California Facility
On Monday June 8, 2009, 9:00 am EDT
Buzz up! Print.FRESNO, Calif., June 8, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Continental Prison Systems Inc. (Pink Sheets:CPSZ - News), dba EZ Card & Kiosk, is pleased to announce our first signed contract for a county jail facility in the State of California, Madera County. The installation and training process is expected to be completed by the end of June 2009. The facility will be incorporating many of EZ Card & Kiosk's services, including inmate trust account money loads and bail payments through lobby kiosks and remote web-based transactions; booking room kiosks; and inmate release debit cards.

Frank Hofmeister, Director Business Development, states, "The State of California represents a very large market for EZ Card & Kiosk's numerous money-saving services. We are very excited about launching Madera County, which we hope will be the first of many county jail facilities in the state."

About Continental Prison Systems, Inc. (www.ezcardandkiosk.com)

Continental offers city and county jails of North America a number of products and services that help to streamline and reduce many of the operational financial obligations required to run these facilities. Continental has coined the tag line -- "Go Cashless to Save Cash" -- via proprietary software, teamed with customized kiosk hardware and remote secure website technology. Our goal is to help convert a jail into a 'cashless' environment through the use of kiosks for in-coming cash and a debit card for out-going cash, relieving the facilities from handling cash over-and-over, therefore reducing errors, mistakes and fraud. Consequently, the facility recognizes a reduction in personnel time and bookkeeping issues related to this aspect of managing a correctional facility.

CPSZ NEWS OUT AFTER THE BELL

Continental Prison Systems, Inc. (CPSI) Awarded a Request for Proposal (RFP) from Clark County, Nevada (the Nation's 15th-Largest County) for Its EZ Card and Kiosk Solutions
CPSI's Financial and Proprietary Kiosk Technology Streamlines the Inmate Booking, Trust Account Funding and Release Process, and Provides Unparalleled Cashless Solutions for Correctional Facilities
On Friday June 12, 2009, 3:59 pm EDT
Buzz up! Print FRESNO, Calif., June 12, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Continental Prison Systems, Inc. (Pink Sheets:CPSZ - News), announced today that its EZ Card and Kiosk system solutions for detention facilities has been awarded a "Request for Proposal (RFP)" from Clark County Jail Facility, Nevada. The RFP, announced recently at the Clark County Commissioner's meeting, calls for EZ Card and Kiosk and the County to enter into contract negotiations over the next 30 days.

The jail facility has approximately 3,500 beds, serving the detention needs of Clark County. The implementation of this innovative system, as well as the training process, is expected to be completed by the end of July 2009. The facility will be incorporating many of EZ Card and Kiosk's solutions, including inmate trust account money loads, bail payments through lobby kiosks, remote web-based transactions, booking kiosks and inmate release debit cards.

"Winning the Clark County RFP is the cumulative result from ongoing positive feedback from the detention facility industry," said Gregg Hodge, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing. "We are very pleased, since the entire process required over eight months of hard work to complete, with strong competition along the way. Now we can begin finalizing the multi-year contract and bringing all of EZ Card and Kiosk's services into play at this large facility, saving them time and money."

The technology will be displayed at the Annual Conference of the National Sheriff's Association in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on June 21-22, 2009. Additional information about EZ Card and Kiosk solutions is available on the company's website www.ezcardandkiosk.com

City jails may implement ATMs for prisoners' cash
By JEREMY OLSHAN

Last Updated: 11:02 AM, September 21, 2009

Posted: 9:21 AM, September 21, 2009

E-book 'em, Danno.
Inmates entering Rikers Island and other city jails may soon be able to deposit all the cash they have on them in automated jailer machines.

The new kiosks under consideration by the Department of Correction would also automatically photograph and fingerprint inmates as they enter the system, in addition to account for their moolah, these self-service booths would give new prisoners the opportunity to bail themselves out with a credit or debit card, too. And incoming jailbirds could use them to send a text message to up to three loved ones -- or lawyers -- along the lines of "OMG, I'm * Rikers!"

It would cost the city nothing. A company in charge of the kiosks would install and maintain them in return for being able to charge inmates transaction fees for deposits, text messages and bail, officials said.

"The technology could smooth the admission process, and it would be faster for each of the jails to establish inmate accounts," said Correction spokesman Stephen Morello.

The cash-transaction process would be similar to purchasing a MetroCard, officials said, although since prisoners are handcuffed at the time of booking, a correction officer will be the one using the touch screen.

Two receipts would be printed for the cash -- one for the inmate and another for the jail's property department. The funds then would be instantly available for the purchase of snacks in the commissary or for inmates to make phone calls or get a haircut, officials said.

Currently, all cash has to be manually counted and handled by Correction employees, a slow process which also increases opportunities for mistakes and fraud, said Frank Hofmeister, a spokesman for Continental Prison Systems, one of the companies in the running to supply the city with the new technology.

These are not small sums. In New York's jails, more than $23 million was deposited for the 105,000 inmates admitted last year, Morello said.

In cities that have adopted the machines, admission time is faster, sales at the commissary are up, and since the technology can detect counterfeit bills, the opportunity for mistakes and fraud is greatly diminished, Hofmeister said.

"It eliminates money-handling mistakes and prevents check fraud," he said. "We are talking about a population that can turn a $100 check into one for a thousand."

Some city jails already have kiosks that allow family members to make deposits into prisoner accounts, and the department is testing machines that would automate the jail-visiting process so that relatives don't have to repeat so many procedures to enter.

CPSZ.This one may be worth accumulating as I hear they will be doing audited financials this summer.
A real growing company with a real product. The share structure is nice also. Very little dilution over two years and they now have 13 accounts.
