Quest Minerals & Mining Commences Coal Mining at Pond Creek Mine at Slater's Branch

Tuesday , May 15, 2007 16:10ET

PATERSON, N.J., May 15, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Quest Minerals & Mining Corp. (OTCBB: QMMG; Frankfurt: QMN.F), a Kentucky based operator of energy and mineral related properties, announced today that it has received clearance from all requisite state and federal agencies to mine coal at its Pond Creek mine at Slater's Branch, Kentucky.

Rodney A. Robinson, President of General Mining, Quest's mine operator, stated, "We are pleased to report that our rehabilitation of the Pond Creek mine is substantially complete and that we can now mine commercial coal while completing the remaining rehabilitation work."

Eugene Chiaramonte, Jr., President of Quest, stated, "We are excited to report that we have started mining again at Slater's Branch. This is a significant step towards generating revenues, achieving profitability, and restoring the financial health of Quest. General Mining has done an excellent job in reopening the mine. We feel that this is a significant turning point for our company and our shareholders."

Quest now intends to attempt to reopen its second mine at Slater's Branch in the Lower Cedar Grove seam, which has over 2,000,000 tones of coal in place. Recent tests on the Lower Cedar Grove seam indicate a strong potential for use of the coal as a blend on multiple metallurgical orders. In anticipation of this reopening, General Mining has moved mining equipment onto the property which it intends to use at the Lower Cedar Grove seam. In order to recommence mining operations at Lower Cedar Grove, Quest and General Mining will need to rehabilitate the mine, file a new mine plan, and obtain all required insurance, permits, and approvals to recommence mining operations at Lower Cedar Grove. The Lower Cedar Grove seam is already covered under the existing mine permit and bond with the Kentucky Department of Natural Resources.

Quest Minerals & Mining Commences Shipping Low Sulfur Compliance Coal From Pond Creek Mine at Slater's Branch

Wednesday, May 23, 2007 06:30ET

PATERSON, N.J., May 23, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Quest Minerals & Mining Corp (OTCBB: QMMG; Frankfort QMN.F), a Kentucky based operator of energy and mineral related properties, announced today that it will commence shipping commercial low sulfur coal from its Pond Creek mine at Slater's Branch, Kentucky to three separate purchasers.

Stock pile analysis performed by Standard Labs of Whitesburg, Kentucky showed sulfur content of 0.42%, one third (1/3) of the EPA compliance coal standards of 1.20%. This puts the coal in what the industry refers to as "super compliance coal" for blending down higher sulfur coal seams.

Gene Chiaramonte, President of Quest, stated, "We are pleased that the run of mine coal establishes the low sulfur and desirable compliance nature of this coal. Indeed, we believe that purchasers will put this coal in their 'super compliance' stock piles to blend with higher sulfur coal. Out of the three proposed purchasers, we intend to develop several long term relationships to maximize the revenues from this coal. With the proposed development of the Lower Cedar Grove seam this summer, which has over 2,000,000 tons of coal in place, we look forward to building a substantial sales base. Recent tests of this seam shows a fluidity of over 1,500 and 13,800 BTUs, making it a great met blend product. "

People get scared anytime someone talks litigation. QMMG took a big drop several months ago when one of its subsidiaries filed bancruptcy. It came back slowly but now another bump in the road. More good news will erase some of this loss .... imho

After reading the 10QSB a lot of the suits filed have been settled and agrred out of court so I beleive it is acctually good news , litigation settled and we can just go on from here..
This will get noticed more tommorrow with all the volume we had today ...
Just my opinion...

I can't believe the volume is down from yesterday and up 7.27% , If we had yesterdays volume of 26 mil this would be back up in the .007s like last week..
And just had 500k in buys at .0059
