Aztec Oil & Gas Issues Additional Update on Progress in Pennsylvania Drilling Program THURSDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2005 10:56 AM - PR Newswire
AZGS 0.125 -0.015
HOUSTON, Dec 15, 2005 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Aztec Oil & Gas, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: AZGS.OB) announced today that it has received additional information concerning three new wells from the operator of its drilling program in Pennsylvania. Aztec has a minority working interest in the program to drill up to 40 natural gas wells located in Cambria, Clearfield and Potter counties in Pennsylvania. There are now a total of seven wells in process, six of which have been drilled to depths in the range of 3,500 feet.
In today's update, the Company notes that Pennsylvania Well # 5 commenced drilling on November 4, 2005. The drilling was completed to its target depth, and the well has been logged. The well is awaiting completion and is expected to produce natural gas from multiple regionally producing reservoirs.
In addition, Pennsylvania Well # 6 has been spudded and drilled to its target depth. The well has been logged, and the operator has run casing. The well is now awaiting completion and is expected to produce natural gas from multiple regionally producing reservoirs.
Finally, Pennsylvania Well # 7 was spudded on December 4, 2005. Drilling continues to the well's target depth in the range of 3,500 feet.
"Again, we are seeing results that exceed, or are at a minimum very consistent with, the completion success rates, estimated reserves per well and future production potential that was projected when we made these investments," said Kirk N. Blackim, president of Aztec Oil & Gas. "Aztec continues to evaluate potential oil and gas investment opportunities that are viable in today's attractive pricing environment." Aztec provided an update on the first four wells drilled as part of the Pennsylvania project on December 12, 2005.
