Look at the possibilities and potentials. Q could use MH to make inroads into the straight TV community, and then syndicate, to the straight media, some of Q’s more “acceptable” line-up as well. MH could be used to broaden the Q presence beyond what they are as “gay only”.

How many of us have a background in the broadcast media? I don’t think Frank would buy MH for his own home entertainment. Frank has proven himself as someone who can find and get the deal. Don’t look just at the pps; also look at what QTN is and what they have accomplished in the past few months.

I tend to think that Q now has enough potential subs to become profitable in the next month or two.

My only media background has benn watching TV since the late 70's and I have never heard of that show until now. I've seen reruns of tons of shows dating back to when TV first started and could probably sing the theme songs to most of them, but Mary Hartman does not ring a bell. What I'm getting at is I personally, in my own humble opinion, have a hard time thinking this show is somehow suddenly an inroad to the straight TV community, let alone a popular syndication with potential to international fame. If it has all of that potential why have I not already seen it in mass syndication? And I'm really having a hard time thinking that buying this Mary Hartman show justifies raising the AS by 10 BILLION shares. Just my .0004 cents worth...I hope what you're doing is good for your longs Frank.
It’s my understanding that Mary Hartman has never been re-run or in syndication after it ended. Over 300 half hour shows were, apparently, only seen once. IMO, there are many other networks that would love to run MH. Just because most “younger” people have never heard of MH doesn’t preclude it being a success.
Everyone has seen the shows of that era many times over and they are still being syndicated. What we have here is something very unique, a show that everyone of that era knows but has not seen in decades. IMO, a “fresh find” would spark widespread interest in those watchers and the carriers that provide those reruns. Don’t forget, reruns of that era are still being shown in other countries.

filing a suit will do exactly that. It will close the lid on Q. Everyones paper loss will become a real loss at that point. The suit will drag on and there will be nothing for anyone to gain from it. Unless you are against a gay network.

Rich735,

I received the exact/verbatim response a couple of weeks ago from Dish in DC/VA. IF we can get Dish or DirecTV to carry us, then MAYBE, this will begin to move upward. Wishful thinking on my part. It's kind of hard to stay positive with all of Frankie boy's lies. [Frown]

Dew-it, DISH or DTV would have to move this thing, don't you think? That would guarantee the Gay Games contract.

I was 17 - 18 years old when this show was on and believe me it was the "talk of the town" if not the nation. I would love to see the show again. If Frank gets the right of ownership it will work well on Q.

Polo,

If you would have asked me that a couple of months ago, I would have not hesitated to say yes. I am trying to stay positive and I do think a Dish or DirecTV would help buty that IMO. I guess we'll have to wait and see. GLTA

Yes, polo, today there are some good shows.

But then there are the "Who is Your Daddy?" and the Springer mentality shows. Both the good and the bad seem to find their audiences.

Perhaps BluLady knew some of those creative writers who were volunteered to retire.........

Re-cycling old films, TV shows, clothing styles, hair styles, music, architecture, cars, paints, wallpapers, furniture.....could be just a nostalgic yearning for the past.

However, a whopping percentage of the public were born after many of our present styles and trends.

Where are today's creative thinkers? More and more, it seems that "the latest" can be found within old yearbooks, newspapers, magazines and catalogs.

I'm tired of hearing Elvis sell insurance.......

Yes, we are. Everytime I watch the PBS "Oldies" concerts, I am shocked at the age of that audience! [Wink]

Mary Heartbeat, IMO, was up there with the "Gone with Wind" drapery rod dress! Ha, ha!

I think recycling ideas only works in the entertainment industry if it's very recent, or new and improved (the idea is taken, and redone). But what do I know, M.A.S.H. still comes on from time to time around here.

My point is the re-runs I see (not including mash) are Friends, Sex and the City, Simpsons, Seinfeld, Southpark, Becker, Fraiser, Will & Grace, etc...

It would appear to me that these bring alot of viewers and have a real value (to any network).

I am just trying to think in terms of the business, and while many boomers might jump at the opportunity to see the Mary Hartman show again, they will not be paying 9.95 a month to see it. Gay viewers might, as they are being offered much more, but this just doesn't seem like a sound investment to me.

With all that said, my opinion could change with a significant turn-around from the upcoming audit.

I keep doing more web searching for Mary Hartman info:

http://www.geocities.com/mhartmanmhartman/

Someone(s) had a lot of stuff on this show, there are even .wav clips.

There is a Yahoo group dedicated to the show.

This is the most complete web site so far on the show that I have found.

Warning though, the clips are short and I don't understand the appeal from them (too brief).

Still looking for even one video clip of the show. Were Beta video recorders in use much in 1976, or even 1980?

Apparently, at least some episodes were aired again in 1980 or so. I can't find where I read that now. : (

Oh, and Reichen's show is on in 5 minutes. (5:30pm EST)

Going to try to listen live from qtelevision.com if it works.

Perhaps, but Andy and Opey just had another marathon weekend........they are still popular with all age groups here and outside of the U.S.

Think about the sale's numbers of DVD's..............people buy what they like.

They and MASH are not popular with me, lol. But I like the way you are thinking. Would Q get the money from the DVD sales or is Frank looking to just have rights to air the show?

We need to help people understand that a class action lawsuit would only hurt us at this point and should only be considered after TMM/QTN has absolutely no chance of succeeding and we are 100% sure we have lost all our money. I say this because it would almost certainly guarantee that we loose almost our entire investment and the only people that would win would be the lawyers and the people that are against QTN; IMHO, we the common shareholders would not even get as much out of the settlement as we would by selling all our shares right now at a loss. I believe that if we are patient, we will be rewarded at least fairly well, and if we are not we will surely loose most of our money.

While I am very against Frank Olsen as being CEO of this company, I do think a class action lawsuit is a bad idea.

I agree.

TMM has to be given a chance to make the most of Q Tv (and all of the other assets) before legal action is considered.

It looks like it is definitely happening. I might not be able to get in on this since I sold my position, but I'll certainly help collect evidence and formulate any arguments.

I think to argue *against* a class-action lawsuit at this time is really kind of funny. I mean, if QBID had everything they said they did, and Frank hadn't lied to us, he wouldn't have anything to fear from a class-action, right?

I'm certainly going to contact these guys and see who all can get in on it. I might even be willing to even donate a few hundred to get a lawyer, it'll probably come from the leftover money I had in QBID as of this morning! [Smile] Anyone else here concerned about how Frank has spent their money?

Remember guys, he said he would not dilute without shareholder approval. He shouldn't have even raised the authorized shares to 60 billion without shareholder approval.

A class action suit… over what?

An increase in the A/S?
They have a right to do that.

The pps down?
I would think it would be better directed at the MM’s as Q/Frank has no control over the pps.

The audit not out by Frank’s self-imposed deadline?
I don’t know of any legal requirement to publish it by any certain date.

Programming?
IMO, I don’t think so. I think we have good programming.

The 150 markets for the Gay Games?
Frank has said on many occasions that he already has that requirement “nailed down”. Besides, it’s required by the start of the GG; and the live feed will be made available to any network who wants to show it, although, I hope, for a cost.

Frank has lied?
He has accomplished almost all that he said he was going to do, just not always in the time frame he said or we expected.

Frank diluting the stock to pay the lights?
He has said and published the fact that we are fully funded thru ’08. He could be open to this, the audit and time will tell us more. Nothing we can do now.

We don’t have enough markets at this time?
Look what has opened up in the past couple of months!

He wants to buy Mary Hartman?
That’s not our call.

Am I happy with no audit yet and the pps?
HELL NO!!!!!!

Hopefully, it’s just talk and nothing will materialize. If the audit is published soon, I don’t think they will be able to get any support for the idea.

BTW, thank you for serving. [Smile]

Not without telling shareholders first.

Frank IS the ONE who has been in control of the PPS it is his continuing dillution that keeps it plummeting.

The audit not out by Frank’s self-imposed deadline?
I don’t know of any legal requirement to publish it by any certain date.

He knows full well that if it is not published the stock price will plummet.

Blah blah blah... this has nothing to do with a lawsuit.

Frank has lied?
He has accomplished almost all that he said he was going to do, just not always in the time frame he said or we expected.

Show me verifiable proof that Frank has ever done a buyback.

Frank diluting the stock to pay the lights?
He has said and published the fact that we are fully funded thru ’08. He could be open to this, the audit and time will tell us more. Nothing we can do now.

does it matter why he dilluted?
The fact of the matter is he did it without telling shareholders or the SEC.

deadlines get missed by even the largest most well-known companies. frank probably doesn't even have to give any of us a deadline. he is probably just trying to keep our spirits up. thanks firefly it's my honor. and i'm glad to back. the share count shouldn't really bother so many people. i'm in this for the long haul. i personally don't care what it does. when frank sells the company for what he sells it for i will make my money.

All this talk is just so that they can hear themselves talking. Probably can't find anyone in person to chat with so they come here.

If they sold then they don't need to worry about me, just move on [Big Grin]
