Hello,

Thank you for your email. PinkTV has met Q Television but only to see how PinkTV and Q Television Network could work together maybe around programs partnerships but nothing has been decided yet. A migration of Q Television is not in the pipe as far as I know and this information is pretty weird to me actually. Where did you get this info? I am neither not aware of the potential broadcast of Q show Brunch from France…

Where did you hear these rumours? Are you working for Q?

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Best regards

Palm Springs Hosts First Mr. Gay Contest
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Filed at 12:14 p.m. ET

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (AP) -- A San Diego man won the first Mr. Gay International and Mr. Gay 2006 USA titles, beating out 11 other finalists in a pageant that featured rock-climbing and rappelling, a timed fireman's obstacle course, talents ranging from poetry reading to gymnastics, and a swimsuit competition.

Jesse Bashem, a 21-year-old gymnastics teacher and surfer, was awarded the titles Saturday night at the Riviera Resort.

''Competitions such as these have been popular in Europe for years and we're thrilled to now have a U.S.-based component looking for the `boy next door' to represent the broader gay community,'' said Don Spradlin, the event's producer.

The international title came down to a tiebreaker between Bashem -- who had already captured the USA title -- and Mr. Austria, Aaron Michael Jackson, 32.

A delay ensued when the judges consulted with one another, leaving the dozen finalists standing -- clad only in swimsuits -- in front of more than 400 people.

At the suggestion of one of the contestants, they danced to raise money for charity, and in less than five minutes had hauled in $500 for The Trevor Project, which operates a suicide prevention hot line for gay teens.

For winning the titles, Bashem received two airline tickets, a modeling contract, a wardrobe, photo shoots and an acting lesson.

Contestants for the pageant came from as far away as Bosnia and Herzegovina and included the reigning Mr. Gay Europe 2005, David Thorkildsen of Norway.

Judges included Palm Springs Mayor Ron Oden, State Assemblyman Mark Leno, D-San Francisco, real estate developer Scott Unger and independent film director Dirk Shafer.

Q Television Network to Offer Exclusive Live Coverage of MR. GAY 2006
Global contestants converge on Palm Springs this October
09.26.05 (Palm Springs, CA) - Anticipation is building in the search for Mr. Gay 2006, happening October 7-9, 2005 (Columbus Day weekend) at the Riviera Resort in Palm Springs, California and broadcast LIVE exclusively on the all gay Q Television Network.

Local winners are currently being selected in cities around the country. Each local "Mr. Gay" winner will then advance to the US finals in Palm Springs and vie for the national title of "Mr. Gay USA." During the same Grand Finale stage show, the newly-crowned "Mr. Gay USA" will compete against finalists from all over the world for the global title of "Mr. Gay International."

Blair Shepard has been chosen as "Mr. Gay San Francisco." Upcoming local contests include: Oklahoma City (Aug. 21); New York (Sept. 19); and Los Angeles (Sept. 25), Ft. Lauderdale (TBD) and San Diego (TBD). Participating countries sending their representatives include: Austria, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Lapland, Latvia, The Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and more.

.....

Producer Dirk Shafer ("Playmate of the Year" and "Circuit") and Palm Springs Mayor Ron Oden have just been added to the distinguished panel of judges for the Grand Finale. They join Joseph Rachert, Marketing Director for Interactive Male; Alan Brown, President of Electric Dreams Foundation; and J.R. Pratts, Publisher of Instinct Magazine.

Bruce Fessier
The Desert Sun
October 5, 2005

It has hosted Mrs. America and Miss California. Saturday, the Palm Springs Riviera Resort breaks new ground:

The first Mr. Gay International.

This isn't just new ground for the Riviera. The concept of Mr. Gay International is so new, its U.S. representative won't be selected until minutes before the finals begins.

Mr. Gay International is the brainchild of development man Don Spradlin of San Francisco and his partner, marketer Tom Roth. It's happening in Palm Springs, Spradlin said, because of Ron Oden, the first openly gay black mayor in America.

Oden will serve as a judge with California State Assemblyman Mark Leno and director Dirk Shaffer from the film, "Circuit."

The nationally syndicated Q Television will broadcast the event. A film crew is expected to shoot it for a documentary.

And it all started as an idea for a benefit for a San Francisco hospice.

Spradlin said in a recent telephone interview he had wanted to do a "Cutest of the Castro" gay beauty pageant for the hospice. The hospice wasn't comfortable backing a beauty pageant for youthful men, so Spradlin held it in October for the AIDS Emergency Fund at the Castro Street Fair. It raised $5,000.

But the gay press chastised him for that name. They dubbed it the "Cute Controversy."

So Spradlin patterned subsequent events after the "Mr. Gay" contests in Europe.

"This is different in a way that's hard to explain because it's new," he said. "It's not leather, it's not drag and it's not big muscle. We're finding the boy-next-door kind of guy and that's what the Europeans have been doing for four or five years."

Spradlin and Roth trademarked the "Mr. Gay" name in the United States and promoted several city contests. Their last ones were in Los Angeles and New York just last month. Their winners will join contestants from San Francisco, San Diego and Palm Springs at the Riviera.

Going international
The promoters invited Mr. Gay Germany as their guest, but then he told fellow contestants at this summer's first Mr. Gay Europe event about the U.S. pageant. Spradlin wound up inviting six other European contestants and made his event international - even though he hadn't had a national event.

The national contest had been planned for Las Vegas.

"Tom had been approached by the Las Vegas Conventions and Visitors Bureau about helping with their gay markets," Spradlin said, "so we had a strong pitch from Las Vegas. But Ron is a personal friend and he heard about it and said, 'No, no, no. This has to be in Palm Springs.' The more we thought about it, the more we realized, this had to come to Palm Springs."

Oden told Spradlin Palm Springs has the demographics and track record for the event.

"We are rapidly becoming the pageant city," Oden said by cell phone off Santa Barbara. "So if they are going to have a Mr. Gay pageant, what better place than Palm Springs?"

Palm Springs also is centrally located for this audience. The promoters are expecting 400 guests for the Saturday finale, and they figure 30 percent to 40 percent will come from out of town. Since many local gays have second homes in Los Angeles and San Francisco, Palm Springs is middle ground.

The contest actually starts Friday morning with some activities that separate it from the average pageant - a term Spradlin does not like to use for "Mr. Gay."

The promoters will take all the contestants to Joshua Tree National Park and have Uprising Adventures judge them on their rock-climbing skills.

That afternoon, they'll conduct fire department drills. Contestants will have to carry 150-pound mannequins and a water hose through a four-minute obstacle course.

They'll attend a public reception that night at the Palm Springs home of Marc Ware, and then move into the real pageantry on Saturday.

That won't be typical, either.

Robert Laughlin, the blond stylist from "Queer Eye for the Straight Girl," will host it.

Two pageants in one
The first half will be just for the U.S. title. It will start with a two-minute talent contest, which is ordinary enough, and end with gay-themed questions. But in between will be a "How do you wear it?" competition.

A crew will roll out a huge rack of clothing and Laughlin will tell the contestants to dress for a particular event - from a cocktail party to the White Party.

They'll start with attire from Ginch Gonch - which is known for its outrageous underwear.

Yes, they will parade around in their underwear.

The winner of the U.S. contest will compete in an international contest in the second half of the evening. That will include a one-minute drill in which contestants will have to sell a margarita mix to folks who probably won't understand their native languages.

It will end with the ubiquitous swimsuit competition. But they won't be wearing Speedos.

Spradlin hopes to add more contestants from around the world in future years. He's already had interest from nations as far away as Israel and Brazil.

Oden says this will become a big event for Palm Springs, but Spradlin already is happy.

"It's been much more than even I had planned," he said. "And I'm a dreamer."

yes they are, but it doesnt matter. QBID was referenced in the PR, and Carol was mentioned and the news is as good for us as it is them.

the nice thing was Frank didnt have to pay for the pr.

great news. and the fact that Frank didnt release it means that Frank may still have a dandy pr up his sleave for today or tomorrow.

nice nice nice.

keep it coming, more carriage is key. Im still waiting for the dish announcement. That will be the one that will allow me to watch my investment on tv.

I am planning on asking Scott about any communications that they have had or having with Pink TV.

I will also be asking about any further plans that they have with OUTtv in Canada.

I also want to confirm the rumors that I am getting regarding a potential contract with Dish that is suppose to be right around the corner [Big Grin]

I am going to try to get Frank to answer a few questions and if he is not willing to answer, then I am going to look for his reactions to my questions.

What i would like to see, is Q doing the same thing they did in Maine...i think that they should be going to these new cities and doing the big kickoff parties so that the citizens know they can subscribe now...

Anyone else agree that they should be doing kickoff parties now in syracuse, rochester, and chicago!!!

again, rumor is from chrisanne that houston is coming very v ery soon, so we may see that in the coming days...anyone know what the main provider is in houston??it isnt RCN

IMO it is better if the carrier does the PR, it shows that they are anxious to get more "Q" programming.

I feel that it really brings more creditability to the "Q" than if the "Q" releases the PR [Big Grin]

Remember that as an Ax, when VERT starts doing mirror trading is likely the time to buy: they are either accumulating (trades of several million shares) or dropping the price baby steps (trades of a few thousand shares)

It is likely that when VERT is out of shares, they will not be on the ask until this stock is above a penny, at which point we'll find out who the new MM is. (Whoever has been buying up the majority of the shares on the downswing and continues to on the upswing)

I don't think that we are immune to the news (which is GREAT news)... and yes I am looking for more (increased PPS [Smile] ) and so is the "market." It should be a few more weeks or a month based on Frankies last PR. We need to file and eventually get off the PINKS before we move, PERIOD.

Remember that Scott supposedly went to Australia, may as well ask about that. I believe Australia is big into the Gay Games.
Also with NTI, Q could easily uplink a number of their programs for syndication to OUTtv, Pink TV, and whatever Australia has to offer.
I believe Pink TV shows are in English, good for us.

I will also be asking about any further plans that they have with OUTtv in Canada.

I also want to confirm the rumors that I am getting regarding a potential contract with Dish that is suppose to be right around the corner [Big Grin]

I am going to try to get Frank to answer a few questions and if he is not willing to answer, then I am going to look for his reactions to my questions.

my guess is 100,000 subs.

you gotta remember. Frank earlier in the spring estimated that he would have 100,000 subs by the end of the year, he has projected a break even of january and proffit by 2nd quarter.

Pride in Canada in its peak had about 125,000 subs and they made money and have survived since 2001.

remember, we have revenue from the teleport, the studio, the library, syndication, subscriptions, and i beleive the largest income will be from advertisers.

i believe we will be proffitable by the time or before the time that Frank has promised.

as much as people like to say that Frank is a lazy person, i disagree. he has been anything but lazy. typically a start up netork takes 3-5 years to be proffitable. Frank has hustled his azz and is getting this task done in a stellar time frame. Franks is not lazy, he is doing what he has to do to make the company succeed. we dont like it as we are left in the dark as to what is happening, but Franks doing what he has to do. if he makes the company successfull, the pps will eventually fall in line. I would be more worried if he was worried about the price and not the company doing well.

our potential is huge here, we will soon start to reap the rewards of being long in this stock.

Dont buy or sell on my opinions, do your research. Make sure you know what you are buying before you buy.

This is a non reporting pink sheet with very high risk. From high risk comes high rewards.
Dont invest more then you can afford to lose.
