Chrisanne Eastwood, mentioned putting Houston on the list very, very soon. Apparently its in the works. That would be my guess. I don't know what Clint has to say about it.

Let's look at the example of an ax who is selling. When the market is rallying, the stock has a hard time moving higher, seemingly hitting a wall every time. And every time the wall seems to have the same initials. Yet, when the strength subsides, the stock has no trouble falling. And funny enough, the ax seems to be following the stock down.

If this behavior is recognized what would be the appropriate course of action? Going long the declines or selling the rallies? Why, selling the rallies of course. Upside is limited every time the stock tries to advance. Instead of trading against the ax and hoping that the buyers will overwhelm her, it is much smarter to sell with the ax and watch the stock fall as buyers pull away. The only kind of buying which should be going on is the covering of short positions as necessary.

But make no mistake; the ax isn't always trading the stock in one direction or another. Sometime she is keeping it in a tight range. And sometime she is not there at all. Another ax may step forward, but there are times where there is no ax present doing anything of note.

Also good:

I haven't been around QBID lately, MLXO is starting to run again. Last couple times it went to .50 cents, but that was when it was reporting. I still think it could hit the .20s or so, we'll have to see. Best thing of all: No MM in it yet cause Cornell Capital sold out all their shares. It's why it ran so fast on Friday.

RCN Announces Launch of Q Television Network in Chicago; Premium 24/7 Gay and Lesbian Channel Available October 17, 2005
10/10/05

PALM SPRINGS, Calif & CHICAGO, Oct 10, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
RCN Corporation (NASDAQ: RCNI), a leading "triple play" provider of competitive cable television, high speed internet and local and long distance telephone services, announced the launch today of the Q Television Network (OTCBB Other: QBID) on RCN's Chicago cable system. Beginning October 17, 2005, Chicago subscribers will be able to access QTN's live, original and interactive GLBT programming on channel 270.

"We are truly excited to be able to announce this expansion of our partnership," said Carol Hinnant, QTN's Vice President, Affiliate Sales & Marketing. "It's gratifying to see that RCN and other cable operators are recognizing the breadth of quality programming QTN has to offer, and we look forward to serving Chicago."

This news not only represents a major victory for the area's large and growing gay and lesbian community, but is also especially exciting for the thousands of athletes, fans and supporters of Gay Games VII(R), for which QTN is the official television network. RCN becomes the first Chicago area cable network provider to offer this historic and internationally recognized gay sporting event.

"We are pleased to make QTN available for subscribers in the Chicago area," said RCN Vice President & General Manager Tom McKay. "The network's unparalleled lineup of original programming delivers on our promise of providing diverse viewer choice and connecting RCN customers to something more."

Q Television currently offers its customers five hours of live programming daily, kicking off its morning fare with the new hit show "Brunch," which stars Honey Labrador and Scott Withers. The day ends with QTN's signature series "On Q Live," a fun-filled adventure of news, guests, sports and entertainment. QTN also offers its customers original programs such as "Q on the Move"--the first-ever travel show for the GLBT community--and "Flesh and Threads," a dance show that brings fashion and the gay beat to the dance floor.

About RCN Corporation:

RCN Corporation, http://www.rcn.com, is one of the largest facilities-based competitive providers of bundled cable, high-speed internet and phone services delivered over its own fiber-optic local network to residential customers in the most densely populated markets in the U.S. RCN Business Solutions is a growing business that also provides bulk video, high-capacity and voice services to business customers. RCN provides service in the Boston, New York, Eastern Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles metropolitan markets. RCN also owns 49% of Megacable, one of the largest cable companies in Mexico.

About Q Television:

This 24/7 premium television network is organized to create, develop and feature television programming for the gay and lesbian community, including live & interactive content every weeknight, plus sports, information and entertainment. While the company expects much of its subscriber base to be comprised of members of the gay and lesbian population, management also believes that quality programming about the gay and lesbian experience, designed to entertain, educate and inform, will attract many other segments of the viewing public. The company's programming is available on a subscription basis to those desiring to subscribe. The network is telecast 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Providing distribution via satellite ensures availability of the network across the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Q Television Network is the official network of Gay Games(R) VII. The network is also ad-supported. For further information on programming and subscriptions, please visit www.qtelevision.com.

I think we are at the proverbial "tipping point" as far as carriers go. As more pick it up, even more will follow right on their heels.

I just tried to find out the amount of subs, by looking on the RCN site. It does give the names of the areas they are in but it doesn't give the number of subs in each area. I would suspect that it's big. My next question is what other carriers are in that area that we need to pick up to broadcat the gay games etc,.
MT, I share you're excitement. Another carrier PR is exactly what I wanted to see.

RCN is only in the chicago area (no suburbs, which is where the cable companies are at). RCN is big though in chicago. I have a few friends who have it (and co-workers). My guess is that 100k is on the low end of a city that has 4 million living in it. RCN is in the 'boystown' area which is where they'll get most of the subs from.

[Wink] The thing that gets my pot stirring is that RCN has been very quite on the carriage of QBID. They brought them on line last October, if I remember right (correct me if wrong).
But this tells me RCN must be very happy with Q Television or they would NOT I repeat "NOT" be adding more cities.
One thing also, dont think for a minute that TW, Cox, and even Comcast, don't know about the Chicago Carriage agreement.
I think this might really get the ball rolling, Just think "All major cable companies fighting over who is going to be the FIRST to air the "Q". [Razz] [Razz]

Last year I called Frank (back when he took your calls) and I put him in Touch with the Washington Blade. I think that we should all call the Blade (GLBT newspaper) in each of the cities that RCN is in and ask that they do an interview with Frank, Q-Television.
That should stir up some interest, and get people calling RCN and the Sat. companies and requesting the Q.
I used to manage a record store in Washington DC 13 or so years ago when the Gay climate wasn't as accepeting We had the City Paper and the Washington Blade. We got three times as many copies of the Blade as city paper, and always ran out.

Gotta say, I love Vegas ! ! My sig used to be ... come on Q, the kids need a pool. Accomplished that this past summer.
Now they need for Dad to have something fun.
Does nobody agree with my thought to get The Blade from each area to call do a story on Q?

i would think, only 1 person should write to the newspaper, and try not to waste their time..but yes i like the idea
