I have been DD'ing this one for about a week now!
This company deals in Recycled plastic. The main components of Plastic are made from crude, so the price of plastic is directly related to the price of crude. Here are some articles that discuss this.
"Price and the future" (of plastics) "One of the great appeals of plastics have been their low price, as compared to other materials. However, in recent years the cost of plastics has been rising dramatically. The cause of the increase is the sharply rising cost of petroleum, the raw material that is chemically altered to form commercial plastics. As the cost of plastic hinges on the cost of petroleum, should petroleum prices continues to rise, so will the cost of plastic. In 2004, the higher price of plasic drove a number of plastic toy manufacturers out of business.
Fears of dwindling petroleum supplies are becoming very real, with publications such as USA Today reporting that current oil reserves will only last 40 years. Alternate reserves such as oil shale and tar oil (tar sand) do exist, but the cost of production is much higher than with current sources. Thus, even if alternative sources are used, costs will continue to rise.
"Plastic comes from oil -- and plastic is everywhere.
You may think of plastic as cheap, but it's cheap no longer.
NOEL WILLIAMS, MANAGING DIRECTOR, DOW CHEMICAL: Prices of plastics have moved from maybe a year to 18 months ago from a $700 level up to $1,500 a tonne in US dollars and that's been across the board on just about all the plastics.
STEPHEN LONG: To make matters worse, demand for plastic is outstripping supply and industry heavyweights like Noel Williams say that will mean higher prices on the shop floor.
NOEL WILLIAMS: I would say over the next 12 months you will see that general consumer products will show that elevated price.
STEPHEN LONG: It's wall-to-wall plastic at the pharmacy and chemist Bob Grant is bracing for price hikes.
BOB GRANT: Oh, I think there's no doubt it would have a cost impact.

As the price of crude escalates, the price of plastic goes up as well. This means that recycled plastic will become a viable alternative to meet market demands, and lets face it..... everything today is made of plastic!

I believe that not all the MM's are open! This usually has 4 mill in daily volume. It took about 10 minutes to get my fill this morning.
I am not worried. The chart looks fabulous and it will go up in the next couple days!
BTW... the one thing that jumped out at me on the chart was the 20 million volume day about 2 months ago... the pps doubled. This tells me that there is not much float and it will move on good volume. With everything pointing up on the chart, and great news released last oct, this one is one I like!

Plastics are recycled in a number of different ways. Here is a brief overview of the different post consumer resins and how they are recycled:
HDPE Also known as #2, this is the plastic used to make milk jugs and detergent bottles. The initials stand for High Density Poly Ethylene which designates a denser form of polyethylene that is almost as dense as water. Most milk jugs are a translucent white and do not contain any pigment. This type of HDPE is called natural since that is it's natural color, and it is the most valuable because it can be made into any color when it is recycled. Other products are often packed in brightly colored bottles which are mixed together at recycling plants into mixed color or rainbow bales. Most of this material is later dyed black after it is processed.
Recycling HDPE is a pretty simple process. The bales are broken apart and ground into small flakes about 3/8 ths of an inch ( 1 CM ). These flakes are then washed and floated to remove any heavy (Sinkable) contaminants. This cleaned flake is then dried in a stream of hot air and may be boxed and sold in that form. More sophisticated plastic plants may reheat these flakes, add pigment to change the color and run the material through a pelletizer. This equipment forms little beads of plastic that can then be reused in injection molding presses to create new products.
Some common end uses for recycled HDPE are plastic pipes, lumber, flower pots, trash cans, or formed back into non food application bottles.
Relatively low in value, we purchased HDPE between $.06 and $.15 US per pound in 2001

It needs volume to move big all at once.... but it will come... the charts look too damn good for it not to go!
