m-Wise Inc. Launches Its First Mobile Entertainment Service in the U.S.
> WILMINGTON, Del., March 7, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- m-Wise, Inc. (OTCBB:MWIS) announced today the launch of its first mobile entertainment service with strategic business counterparts in the United States.
m-Wise is supplying its MOMA Content Management and Delivery Platform as a fully hosted service including the management of all content and delivery to U.S.-based subscribers and the management and deployment of billing over premium SMS. The platform is currently connected to premium billing accounts of U.S. mobile operators such as Cingular, AT&T and T-Mobile and the connectivity to Sprint PCS is expected in the near future. The content available to subscribers will include ringtones, pictures, games and video files all from a catalogue of thousands of top quality content items including known brands.
m-Wise has developed a number of strategic business alliances, which will be responsible for advertising the new mobile entertainment service to the U.S. market. A number of ads have already been placed in several popular teen magazines in the U.S. during the last weekend to a target audience of approximately 2-3 million magazine readers. Readers will be able to simply download the ringtones, pictures, games and video clips directly to their mobile phone by sending a simple text message (SMS) to a special short number detailed on the advertisements. The m-Wise Content Management and Delivery Platform will be responsible for delivering the required downloads to the U.S. subscriber.
The U.S. mobile content business has progressed by leaps and bounds recently as mobile content-related companies enjoy a massive growth in content sales compared with their European counterparts. The U.S. technology research firm Jupiter Research predicts the installed base of ringtone-capable phones in the U.S. will grow from 55 percent of handsets in 2004 to 100 percent by 2008. Downloads of music ringtones will grow from 6.1 million in 2004 to 332.6 million in 2009, creating U.S. revenues of $897 million in 2009.
Through its business alliances in the U.S., m-Wise will receive $0.05 to $0.1 per each single download -- with a minimum monthly amount guaranteed for each service. The current launch is part of a number of launches that are expected in the near future by several different marketing brands. As a fully hosted solution, the MOMA Content Management and Delivery Platform will allow the easy administration, configuration and management of the mobile entertainment service.
The m-Wise MOMA Service Delivery Platform consists of more than 1,000 value-added applications launched in connection to more than 50 European, American and Asian networks. m-Wise provides the industry's most robust and critical SDP for mobile operators, wireless ASPs and large content and media providers.
