Delta Mining and Exploration Corp. Discloses Preliminary Gold Exploration Findings in South America
Wednesday August 4, 10:30 am ET

LEWISBURG, Ky., Aug. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Delta Mining and Exploration Corp. (Delta) (Pink Sheets: DMXP - News) wishes to disclose preliminary findings on their Gold concessions in Bolivia.

The Robert concession controlled by Delta is roughly 3830 acres and is located approximately 50 miles by paved highway south of La Paz. The concession is located on the Altiplano alongside the Coniri fault at an elevation of 13,000 feet. The property is about 80% rocky outcrop or shallow soils with the balance of the land being covered by Cretaceous to Tertiary aged sediments. The large percentage of outcrop simplifies exploration and due to easy access and drilling conditions is quite cost effective.

The low hills exposed above the Altiplano plain are either Paleozonic sedimentary rocks and/or Miocene dacite rocks. The sedimentary rocks consist of thinly bedded shales (60%) and bedded sandstones (40%) believed to be of the Vila Vila formation. This geology provides a good indication for positive host rocks to gold mineralization in this region.

To date, a small number of samples have been collected from the dacite and have returned values of 0.333 g/t of Gold, 2.3% Lead, and 0.667% Zinc. The limited amount of exploration completed set in the context of the promising geology and the presence of successful producing mines in the area suggest that more detailed exploration is warranted.

The extensive experience of Dr. Barry Rayment and Stephen Kay in this region of South America in conjunction with their gold exploration and mining history will ensure Delta prepares and completes the appropriate work program while being considerate of the local culture.

With injection of capital expected over the coming weeks, a work program will be planned for this property together with the previously disclosed diamond exploration properties in both Montana and Bolivia.

Delta Mining and Exploration Corp., http://www.deltamine.com : is a mineral exploration company with an extensive portfolio of diamond and gold properties throughout the state of Montana, and in Bolivia, South America. Delta controls some 7,500 acres throughout Montana located within the Wyoming Craton where many of North America's diamonds have been found. Exploration and Mining Takes Off in North America
Thursday July 29, 10:43 am ET

LEWISBURG, Ky., July 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Delta Mining and Exploration Corp. (Pink Sheets: DMXP - News), continues to be encouraged by the growth in exploration and mining activity in North America and the resultant support for these ventures from within the financial community.

Diamond exploration in North America has experienced a resurgence recently and extraordinary returns on investment have been achieved over the past few years by junior Canadian companies such as Dia-Met Minerals (Ekati Mine with BHP), Aber Resources (Diavik Mine with Rio Tinto) and Winspear Resources (Snap Lake Mine with De Beers). These companies started out as small exploration companies and are now considered industry leaders.

Delta is one of the few US-based diamond exploration companies and offers a unique opportunity to repeat this type of success with its existing large portfolio of quality diamond properties and the exploration potential of the under-explored and highly prospective regions of Montana and Bolivia. This potential was recognized by Platinum Equity Funding, Inc with their recent commitment to invest at least $500,000 for continued exploration.

According to the World Diamond Council, "Rough diamond mining companies produce annually some 114 million carats of rough, worth some $6.8-$7 billion, providing meaningful livelihood to some two million people working in the various stages of mining, processing, distributing and retailing, enabling the annual sale of some 67 million pieces of diamond jewelry worldwide. With new mines coming on stream, others being expanded and some being closed, it is expected that by the year 2005 world production may increase to over 120 million carats worth some $8.9-$9.2 billion."

Delta Mining and Exploration Corp. Prepares for Upcoming Work Program at the Homestead Property in Montana
Monday October 11, 10:00 am ET

LEWISBURG, Ky., Oct. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Representatives of Delta Mining and Exploration Corp. (Pink Sheets: DMXP - News) visited the Homestead Kimberlite last week taking a number of samples from the diamondiferous kimberlite.

All the samples were taken from the visible kimberlite outcrops behind the Homestead cabin. A number of samples taken contained the xenolithic rock characteristic of kimberlites. The xenolithic rocks showed clear examples of the diamond indicator minerals garnet and pyrope. The other collected samples clearly displayed the green soil and rock of the kimberlitic body.

In planning the work program the accessibility of the kimberlite would result in large savings in exploration expenditure. Kimberlites are usually found well beneath the surface, so would normally require removal of large amounts of overburden to gain access to the kimberlitic mineralized zones.

A number of the other prospective targets were visited while in the vicinity of the Homestead Kimberlite. Although only briefly examined, they display similar characteristics to those of the diamondiferous Homestead pipe.

Furthermore, the landowner is pleased to hear that Delta plans to commence exploration in the near future. As the landowners are heavily entrenched in the local community, they noted the positive effect the work program and any subsequent exploration and mining programs will have on the local economy.

It was the first time Tom Charlton, the Montana Representative, had visited the Homestead property and his expectations were more than fulfilled. Mr. Charlton has an extensive background in the mining sector having managed several successful public and private companies but in all his experience he said that he "has not seen a property with as much potential as the Homestead Kimberlite. It is one thing to read all the encouraging reports on the Homestead property, but it is another to actually see the kimberlitic outcrops with xenolithic rocks and the clearly visible garnets and pyropes."
