Might want to read this and take survey. Please take this poll to help tell the American Family Association that their views do NOT represent the general public.
You may have already heard about this upcoming network. Recently Viacom (Owner of CBS, MTV, VH1, Showtime, Comedy Central and TV Land) announced that that they are beginning a cable TV network for gays and lesbians. It will be called LOGO. The new network will be advertiser-supported and will be offered as part of the "basic" package by cable networks. The network is scheduled to begin operating on February 17, 2005 (that's in 8 months!).
The right-wing Christian anti-gay organization American Family Association wants you to take their poll about this new network. They say they will provide results to the cable companies and potential advertisers.

Wow!!! What a spring loaded survey!! If they do not get the answers they want, no way in hell will it get to the advertisers. Why waste bandwidth with schidt like this? Steve

Good find. I took the poll and emailed the link to everyone I know invested in QBID or invested in the gay lifestyle.

That's the most appalling organization I have ever seen. Maybe it's a good thing they didn't have a comment section. It's sad how they call themselves Christians yet they are SO adament about discrimating and hating those who differ from them. Looks like they need to rethink they're values...no doubt they forgot the saying "WWJD."

What's that, Smctbone?! I couldn't hear you over their bible thumping! LOL
I agree with you 100%... that's my biggest problem with groups like that. Different=hellbound

Poll Questions
Would a network promoting the homosexual lifestyle and agenda be good for America? * No Yes
Should the homosexual network be part of the "basic" cable offering? * No Yes
Would you have a positive or negative view of companies which financially support a homosexual network? * Negative Positive
If you read the first question. And I know this pertains to LOGO. But the first questions states "network promoting the homosexual lifestyle". As far as qbid is concerned, I haven't read anywhere where they will be promoting the homosexual lifestyle. They will have programing geared toward the gay and lesbian community.
Question #2 is good for QBID. As it states "Basic" not a paid channel.
My opinion of #3. I would feel strong about a company that doesn't let a small group of people influence their decision of where to advertise. That is all it is, is a small group. They set up questionairs on the net, send out fliers, have meetings to rally the troups. I don't believe there is anyone in this world who isn't related or doesn't know someone who is gay. They will talk to them face to face an be real nice, then go to their group and bash. Wake-up and get over it. I have a few friends who are gay, and have neighbors who's daughter is gay. Guess what, one of my best friens is gay. Has been since 1976. This isn't something new, people have been gay for many years. Well this has been my vent for the day. I will respond to the questionair but feel only the responses they are looking for will make it to the cable companies.

Merely having a station geared toward the gay/lesbian population on tv would be promoting the homosexual lifestyle, something QTV will be doing. But I agree, this vindictive and malevolent association won't be releasing the results unless it agrees with their arrogant and ignorant point of views...(sorry for all the fun adjectives)

good posts so far everyone!! this is really just a bump to the top...
KB had a good point on the main QBID thread -- even if we're able to skew the results, they'll just not use this survey.. but they'll still have wasted their money trying!.. (I paraphrased, of course)
