VIACOM has said this several times before. Only later to say, they changed their minds.
The worst thing that could happen to us. As QBID share holders. Is for QBID to join another network or be bought out. Frank must make a go of it. QBID must stand on its own two feet. 007

Bob- Looks like your question got buried way back there, so I guess I'll respond.

Get a calculator...

100,000 QBID X 0029 = $290 ... hit Memory +
100,000 QBID X .0042 = $420 ... hit Memory +
100,000 QBID X .0044 = $440 ... hit Memory +
200,000 QBID X .0052 = $1040 ... hit Memory +
500,000 QBID X .0089 = $4450 ... hit Memory +
Hit Memory Recall = $6640
Divide by 1,000,000 total shares = .00664 average pps

Hypothetically speaking, of course...

(And the thought that 1M shares would have cost me only $100, had I discovered AllStocks sooner, just makes me want to cry... hypothetically speaking... But I'll get over it.)

big deal. so MTV says they're going to have a gay network. if you're an advertiser, what are you going to wait for febuary to advertise? it may not even ever happen at all. heck no. no, you're going to advertise on the current gay network - q-television. maybe the Q won't survive in the long run if viacom really DOES come out with a gay network. but the time is now for the Q and the price will go up and we'll all make some money. maybe we won't be millionaires, but i could stand to use a few extra K.
i'm really surprised you'd take out most of your $ out right now bag, but we'll see what happens tomorrow....

Yeah, I dont see the cable or satelite companies waiting a whole year just for the vaunted viacom/mtv. Advertisers arent going to wait a year either. If anything they will jump on with Q or HereTv and dump them down the road.

The competition is good anyways for the cable and satellite companies because it keeps the carriage cost down.

Agreed. I remember there used to be a comedy channel called "Ha!" running for quite some time next to another Comedy Channel, and even given that they were basically the same product serving the same market, they both launched and ran successfully for a while before they merged as (I think) Comedy Central. Variety was good. Any two gay-themed channels have MUCH more opportunity to adopt their own unique slant on serving their market than does a comedy channel. The material is just so much more rich, and the palette more vast. Just look at how many times you see the same format in cooking shows being successful over and over and over, just by changing the style of cooking. I can see a gay themed music channel, a gay themed home & living channel, a gay themed movie channel, a gay themed reality/youth market channel, a Lesbian-issues only channel, and on and on, each being completely independent and successful in the long run. "Gay themed" should not mean gimmick, it just means "market" and this market is huge. I have no worries about this Logo thing, in fact I feel more excited than ever, and even vindicated as an investor for believing in an idea before Viacom commited to something similar. So should you. Logo will not make Q better or worse when it launches, well over 6 months earlier, by the way...it can only help to "out" our Q that much bigger and grander. Someone get that decency league on the phone about the Q! We need some good old fashioned controversy. Now that the media is searching for other targets while awaiting Logo, it is ONLY A MATTER OF TIME before they pick us up and make us a household phenomenon. Just my opinion, but the media is known to work like that. Funny that we get a new attractive website today suddenly...just in time to start emailing the link out to every news organization we can think of, yes, again, in light of this news. Not gonna speculate further, but it seems serendipitous. I'm getting started right now! Hope you all saved your list of news organization email addresses as well.

Go Qbid!

Maybe Viacom timed this press release because they view the Q as viable competition. Could be trying to throw a blanket over the pending good Q news tomorrow.

AMEN AND AMEN AND AMEN!! Where would business be if it wasn't competitive? If you have a product and you want others to realize the need and marketability of that product, what better way of having it demonstrated for you than to have a "known entity" follow your lead!!

IMHO, MTV did something no paid PR agency could have done. MTV validated Q Television's product before the product was finalized.

Come on along MTV...we'll pave the way for ya!

And I can tell you that all it takes is one big advertiser to take the QBID plunge. After the first big boy jumps in the pull the rush to follow him will cause a swimming pool tsunami! Yes quote me on this one.

Big Corporation --
Mr. John Q. Advertiser, would you like to run an add campaign with us for 1 week at $$$$$$? You will be our 147,000th customer and you are not spending $$$$$$$$$$$ with us so we will be giving you the attention that you deserve. Next please

QBID --
Mr. John Q. Advertiser, would you like to run an add campaign with us for 1 week at $$$$? We are a new network and really value your business, also we can get you on the air next month instead of February '05 when your competition will be trying to get a decent price from Big Corporation.

Big Corporation –
John Q. Investor, would you please buy our stock? If we increase our sales by $10 Billion this year we believe our share price may sore 15% this year!

QBID –
John Q. Investor, would you please buy our stock? We have had over 18,000% increase in share price in the last 6 months and if we get just 1 big investor we may gain another 1000% by the end of the year.

==== Any bets? ===

I leave for a few hours and the bashers show up and ruin a perfectly good morning. It was starting to run this morning and the big boys couldn't have that and sent out there wolves I see. Well, I hope we can over come this tomorrow and those of you who don't show up here except when we are doing good just go away. If you can't put in good input when the stock is just moving slowly, we don't need you when its doing good.

Thats all it is. A bunch of feather ruffling. If i was Viacom I would do the same thing even if I didnt really have anything set in stone. Matter of fact, I do that in business all the time in what I do. If my competitor comes out with something before me, I let my customer/prospect know I am coming out with it also and how I am going to do it better. Its text book Microsoft Marketing 101. If you ever want to read a good article go to USATODAY and search for an article called "Stealing an Idea" or something similiar. Its a great article and it appears that the "vaunted" (says it with a snear) viacom has taken a page from it. No, I am not worried about this, this is business and thats the reality of it all.

I have a lot on the same lake..I'll make you a good deal on. You can build a log home. The word "camp" seems a little misleading. Most of the "camps" are 3 to 4 bedrooms, den, family room, living room, dining room, 3 bath year round homes. To people in the Kennebunk Port area that is slumming it. lol

A February 2005 launch of Viacom's G/L network will give QBID an 8 month first mover advantage, assuming we hard launch in July 2004. The gay marriage political issue is hot NOW, its not going to wait for Viacom, QBID will be there covering it from the start while Viacom's network is still in the works. Advertisers won't wait for Viacom either, they're going to want to reach their potential audience as soon as possible, not 10 months from now. Viacom is a late mover, they could have had this all ready to fly when the time was right but instead they shelved it and they're now playing catchup, a decision that in my opinion will cost them millions in lost revenues, its probably the likely launch of QBID which got them scrambling. Viacom is a large corporation, they can't move like a startup. Their announcement in my opinion will only help QBID by adding fuel to the frenzy. QBID is miles ahead in my opinion, they already have original programming and secured rights to air content. Even Viacom's deep pockets can't get them to the table faster than QBID. CNN can cover Viacom all they want, its usually the lesser known opportunity that has the explosive potential. First mover advantage is HUGE in this game, we need to launch with no delays to secure it. There's no doubt in my mind that my money is invested in the right place. Let's hope for a "smashing" pr tomorrow. Come on QBID, maybe we'll see that .025 tomorrow!

I don't think they'll have a problem. There are already a whole host of mainstream companies that have gay-tailored ads. Miller, Budweiser, Ford (incl. Volvo & Jaguar), Subaru, Bacardi.. and that's just off the top of my head....

I could possibly see qtv being bougth by mtv. MTV has tons of money, and will see how much closer qtv is to launching than them, and will want to be a part of it. Thats the way it seems to me..

Just had an idea... here's the complete list of advertisers in the May2004 issue of OUT magazine....

Cadillac, Puma, Evian, Gucci, Movado, Bacardi, Jaguar, American Express Business, Hilfiger (4 page ad), Grey Goose Vodka, L'Oreal, Land Rover (Ford), Bang & Olufsen, Midori, Volvo (Ford), Volvo S40(Ford) [two pages away from first], UV Vodka (2 page ad), ACLU, American Express Blue, Showtime/Queer as Folk, Jose Cuervo, CarboRITE, Reyataz - BristolMyersSquibb HIV med (2 page ad), DishNetwork/Here!TV, WarnerBros/Turner Classic Movies, Smirnoff, K9 Advantix, Bridgestone, Smirnoff/CrownRoyal/JohnnieWalker/Tangueray (combo ad re: zero carbs!), Lexiva -GlaxoSmithKline HIV med (6 page ad), Skyy, TylenolPM, AussieBum, Sustiva - BristolMyersSquibb HIV med (2 pages), amFAR.org (AIDS research), Trojan, American Express Travel, Natural American Spirit, Amazon.com, Borders, KeyWest, OmniGlow, Nutraceutics, AirCanada/Toronto/OntarioCulturalAttractionFund/ RailCanada/Trojan/LaBattBlue (combo ad), Bud Lite, Level Vodka....

and that's just one monthly issue of one magazine.... so, I think QBID will have NO lack of advertisers... JMHO though..
