I am recently new to the stock market and I would like to know if I need to look at paying taxes quarterly or another time frame. Does it depend on the profit or loss or something else. Thanks for you help in advance.

I have only filed taxes twice since I started investing. I have other income. I put all of my investment income on a Schedule D and then bring it back over to the 1040.
In my case I have never filed or needed to file quaterly.
If there is a $ ammount that requires it. I hope to have that problem soon.
