Thoroughbred Interests, Inc. Engages No Ifs Consulting

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Mar 19, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Thoroughbred Interests, Inc. (OTCBB:TBRE) today announced it has entered into an agreement with Patrick Brown of No Ifs Consulting to develop new opportunities in the gaming and entertainment sectors. The focus will initially include both domestic and international Ecommerce and Internet based acquisitions. It is expected that acquisitions of existing companies as well as development of new projects will be worked on.

No Ifs, a Kentucky based consulting company, has expertise in developing value for emerging Internet based businesses. Previous clients of No Ifs include top online jewelry retailer Ejewelry.com, premier thoroughbred sales site STARQUINE.COM and real estate industry portal Agentport.com. Past work has focused on expanding reach via marketing and brand building along with improved service and product offerings. Patrick Brown, stated, "The gaming industry is being redefined by online and account based ties that are immeasurable in scope and value to shareholders. Account wagering is exploding in the U.S. and abroad, and there are several interesting projects we are currently evaluating." In a related move, Thoroughbred Interests, Inc. has also entered into an agreement with Infosmiths, a Kentucky based programming and coding service. Infosmiths has developed a broad range of high traffic sites across multiple industries and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the future projects.

Jim D. Tilton, Jr., Chairman, President and CEO of Thoroughbred Interests, Inc. stated, "We are very enthusiastic about bringing on this level of expertise as we continue to explore opportunities in the gaming and entertainment sectors. We are also excited about moving into the gaming sector and look forward to additional gaming, entertainment as well as other acquisitions and opportunities." As previously announced, Thoroughbred Interests, Inc. elected to be regulated as a business development holding company in order to raise capital in a more efficient and timely manner. The Company recently announced as well a $5 million dollar financial commitment over the next 12 months from Wall Street based Compass Capital Group. Additionally, the Company announced it's plan to change its name to Phoenix Interests, Inc. subject to shareholder approval to better reflect the gaming and entertainment focus it has elected to pursue.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Louisville, Kentucky based Thoroughbred Interests, Inc.'s core historical business has been acquiring undervalued yearling thoroughbred horses and reselling them as two-year-olds in training or as a racing prospect. This is commonly referred to in the thoroughbred industry as "pinhooking". The Company is currently looking to expand within the thoroughbred industry beyond its core pinhooking activities. The Company is also currently implementing new strategic corporate initiatives along with exploring potential acquisition candidates in the gaming, entertainment and other sectors. Consistent with this broader focus, in January 2004 the Company elected to be register as a business development company and in February 2004 to change it's name to Phoenix Interests, Inc. subject to shareholder approval.
