Due to the positive results of the initial petrographics, North Star Diamonds, Inc has decided to analyze more core samples to further confirm the results of the initial testing. Walter Stunder will be meeting with the laboratory staff to discuss the results on Monday, February 16th along with the geologist and select more core for testing. He will then travel to Winnipeg to inform the Manitoba Geological Survey staff as to the results. A press conference is being scheduled in Winnipeg on Tuesday, February 17th at 1:30 p.m.

Due to the changes in plans, the information meeting planned for Bellingham on February 12th at 10:00 will be postponed.

North Star Diamonds, Inc has reached an agreement with a major Canadian diamond cutter to market diamonds under the North Star brand. The trademark is being registered. Customers will now be able to purchase a North Star diamond with the North Star logo and their own identification. This will assure the customer of high quality at a reasonable price. WINNIPEG - A 6,475-hectare chunk of land in southeast Manitoba could one day be home to a diamond mine.

North Star Diamonds has staked out the area north of Hadashville. President and CEO Walter Stunder says North Star has already found some garnets in the area, which is a promising sign.

"When you're looking for diamonds, you don't look for diamonds themselves, you look for garnets because there's a lot more garnets than there are diamonds," he explains.

"Then, we looked at some of the geological structures. The geologic structures definitely have what they call 'kimberlithic signatures,' so we decided to work there."

Kimberlite is a type of rock that often contains diamonds.

Stunder says his company, which has already spent about $50,000 on exploratory work, will begin drilling as soon as the ground is frozen.

A lamprophyre, believed to be the first in Manitoba has been discovered on the Shire 1 target. Lamprophyres are of the same geological formation as Kimberlite and Lamproites. Other diamondiferous lamprophyres have been discovered in other parts of Canada, mainly in the North West Territories and in the Wawa area of Ontario, which is also on the Superior Craton.

Further work will be done on the Shire 1 target with regard to geophysical work and further exploratory drilling. Further staking of land has been done to secure the area. Other geological anomalies in the area will be drilled as part of North Stars ongoing exploratory program.

Merry, Gimli, and Bree were found to be of no interest in diamond exploration. However; they are being tested for rare earth metals. Results will be announced as received.
