Intersil Corporation (Intersil) is a designer and manufacturer of analog integrated circuits (IC). The Company focuses on broadening its portfolio of application-specific standard products (ASSP) and general purpose proprietary products (GPPP), which are targeted at four high-growth markets: high-end consumer, industrial, communications and computing, which contributed 27%, 26% and 23% and 24%, respectively, of the Company's sales, during the fiscal year ended December 30, 2005 (fiscal 2005). The Company markets its products for sale to customers, including distributors, primarily in China, the United States, Taiwan and Japan. In fiscal 2005, the Company derived 57% of its sales from original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customers, original design manufacturer (ODM) customers and contract manufacturers, and 43% of its sales through distributors and value-added resellers.
