Not my picks but I will throw in my .02 on buy signals.

AUO-Bottom bollinger band bounce, 200-day ma acting as support also, Slostochastics showing oversold and it has been giving a pretty good indication of a bottom. Candlestick showing reversal. MACD not there yet but I am guessing it will be improving shortly.

BTUI-First I like the long lower shadow on todays candle showing buying pressure overtaking selling pressure and increase in volume. Throw in RSI(10) showing rebound off of oversold conditions and RSI(10) has been giving good indication of bottom. Still in overall longterm uptrend. 50 day MA shows no correlation of support or resistance so I do not count as resistance. In any case 50 day is still .48 cents higher which is a decent gain.

XEC-Same reasons on this one as above.

LUK-Although not technically completed a pullback it has been a bull the last several months and could enter seemingly anytime for a successful short term trade.

All IMO

Any other opinions?

Sorry, buy signals are beyond me. Plus, I don't want to get "hot money" in them. I want people to buy them for their own reasons, and be confident in owning them (which is the only way to make money.) A bit of research on Yahoo Finance (http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ks?s=LUK) shows what excellent deals each of the stocks are. I'll give you my 3 most favs though:
-LUK (you don't need luck with LUK)
-BSTE
-STST

Don't let my favs distract you from all the other great ones. If most of the stocks do great, I'll bring more here.

And you welcome BuyTex....

Thanks, Macd, good post...

***

Explorer, by "buy signals" I simply mean this: what is it that signals to *you* that a particular issue is "ripe"? in other words, as you say "buy for their own reasons." What might those reasons be?

Am not asking for long-drawn out, "analyst" convolutions...

Ya, thanks again...

BTW I started this demonstration on another board on 2nd of March:

"I’m going to give you five picks: LUK (53.93), BSTE (54.84), CHK (30.32), STST (28.89), and RYI (25.80). We’ll pretend you put $1000 in each of them. During this month, I’ll post sell points for each pick. When all of the stocks are fictitiously sold, we’ll calculate what your total gain (loss) would be; then you can see for yourself what kind of money can be made in the large caps."

I would like to copy the results here should this thread survive. No sell points yet.

Understood BuyTex (about buy signals,) but won't do (sorry.) I'll discuss each stock's particular situation as it is brought up.
