HOLLYWOOD, Jun 24, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- American IDC Inc. (ACNI:PK), is excited to announce that its licensor, ETV, is surpassing its June milestones for movie downloads and reports a 300 percent increase in customer acquisition for their ecommerce site, www.99cent-movies.com, for the second quarter of 2004.

American IDC Inc, CEO, Gordon Lee states, "We're pleased that more users are recognizing the value of American IDC's movie download-to-own system and discovering new favorites to purchase each day from our library of more than 10,000 classic movies. Our goal is to maintain first-mover advantage in providing DRM (digital rights management solutions) and Hollywood movie downloads at low cost to audiences hungry for digital content. While the Business models of companies such as Netflix (NFLX: NasdaqNM) have been successful in recent years using a mail-delivery system, our revolutionary broadband technology will insure that our customers will be able to order and watch their favorite Classic Hollywood Movies on their television or computer within minutes after they make their selection."

DVD recorder sales are booming according to an independent survey by the research firm Technometrica Market Intelligence. That firm projects that 4.5 million DVD recorders will be sold in the next 12 months resulting in an astounding $2 billion in sales. "We're prepared now to cash in on that segment estimated to be as high as 15 percent of all computer users with our new 'download-to-DVD' technology," Lee states. By the end of 2004, the industry-sponsored DVD Entertainment Group (DEG) estimates that about 65 percent of U.S. households will have at least one DVD player.

"We've built the first DVD-quality movie sites on the web," says Lee. www.etvhollywood.tv continues to stream classic movies 24/7 and is now in negotiations with major advertisers and promotional marketing partners for an international launch campaign in August, 2004. The companion ecommerce site, www.99cent-movies.com, continues to establish new alliances and is preparing to introduce an expanded national affiliate program linking to thousands of websites online. Our business plan is nearing its final completion stage for our formal launch expanding to China in 4th quarter 2004," Lee notes.
