SIRI was my first real daytrade. In 4k at 2.30 and out on the retrace at 3.40. I took my winnings and promptly lost half pennystocks. SIRI has a HUGE float and it takes ALOT to move it up. I'd follow the boards, learn what kind of news people are waiting for, than buy on that news. It is easy to get into on a run -(unlike WNMI which I'm in big at .034) I would not hold too long or get sucked into buying "before the big news". There are alot of bogus posts that can suck you into this stock, wait for real solid news that people are waiting for.

My son told me gossip is Howard Stern has been kicked off the public airwaves. I read somewhere (maybe here) Stern might go to SIRI. That's alot of added subs, and subs numbers are what drive this stock. Stock would double in a week.

Earnings anouncement today!

Remember resistance is about 4.25 hit that twice and fallen, a good report can take us there again. If it breaks that resistance point....

Howard Stern moving to SIRI...

Will be very good for SIRI. Should bring thousands if not millions of subscribers.

I have been in and out of both xm and sirius since march of 2003 and have made good money off of them but I think sirius has made better moves that will attract more subscribers. xm had the early market because of all the contracts with car dealers but I think the two huge things that are going to drive them up is first getting the NFL contract and now the huge news of Howard Stern. I think they will bypass XM in subscribers by 2006 when stern goes live.

Hello, I just wanted to pass on some interesting news that I heard about one week before the Howard Stern contract was announced. I was at a local Circuit City a couple of weeks ago having a new stereo installed in my Tahoe. While waiting around I just happened to be standing next to a sales rep. for Sirius while he was giving a demonstration on their latest wave of technology.... Video!! Since it took 4.5 hours for the installation of my radio, I had plenty of time to chat with the Circuit City manager after the Sirius rep left the store. He explained that Sirius is planning to deliver (initially) eight video channels over their existing satellites. Four of the channels would be kids channels and the others would be a mix of HBO, news and a couple others (he either wasn't told what the other two would be or didn't remember). When I got home that evening I compared XM (close to $30.00) and Sirius ($3.20 at the time) and figured what the heck...this could be big! FYI, the rep also mentioned that XM would not be able to compete in this arena because the satellites they have in orbit could not deliver video. Not sure if it's a bandwith thing or what??

As we all know, conventional satellite reception requires a stationary dish that always points directly at the satellite. If what this guy demonstrated really works, this could be the new era of satellite TV!!

Then, to hear the following week that Howard Stern had signed a 500m contract..........

I'll be honest, I am a newbie at this investing stuff (SIRI was my first buy) so I hope I don't seem misleading or anything. I just wanted to pass on what I heard. Everyone keeps talking about the shock jocks and NFL going to SIRI and there could be something even bigger on the horizon. Sirius could compete with Dish and Direct TV!!

FYI, I really like this forum, just joined yesterday.

I found an article on this....

Sirius Satellite Radio said it intends to offer limited digital video services some time in the future, in addition to its digital audio streams.
In a demonstration at the Consumer Electronics Show here, Sirius executives showed off a clip from a Nickelodeon cartoon which Larry Pesce, vice-president of product marketing and strategic planning said was "real video in real time", without buffering. We believe there is a tremendous opportunity to expand beyond our music and talk groups," Pesce said. Pesce estimated that up to 3.5 million consumers would like to receive live video in their cards, based upon Consumer Electronics Association surveys that found 12 percent of American consumers intend to purchase an in-car entertainment product, such as a video display and DVD player, this year.
Video was a natural offshoot of the displays used on today's Sirius receivers, which can display the artist and track name of the song that's playing. Sirius will probably first display stock quotes and sports scores on new receivers; the company expects 20 new receiver models to roll out this year, manufactured by partners including Kenwood and Audiovox. Although it might like to become a mobile version of satellite providers like DirectTV, Sirius' video plans are constrained by its available frequency bandwidth. The Federal Communications Commission has allocated only enough spectrum to permit 4-Mbits/s of downstream bandwidth, according to Robert Briskman, the company's vice-president of engineering, in an interview. MPEG-4 compression, with its tolerance for different bandwidth "is probably what we'll be using," Briskman said.
Sirius has content relationships with both Nickelodeon and Toon Disney, according to Pesce. The low bitrate that cartoons require make that form of content especially suited to Sirius digital radio transmissions, Briskman said. The digital radio broadcaster will probably also transmit sports clips, which users will likely be able to tailor to follow their preferred teams.

Hard to believe there's no talk on this stock here. It's been a steady gainer since Stern anounced his move.

Finally freed up some funds yesterday and got in @ 9.37
